jlucasarc We don't provide this as an automatic functionality, but you could get a similar result by
- Set the Field of View in the General Tab of the Enscape settings to 27mm
- Find the View you desire in Enscape and Create a 3D view in Revit via [Create View] in the Enscape ribbon
- Setting the Capture Resolution in the Capture tab of the Enscape settings to 1080p.
- Crop the field of view of that 3D view to 192mm Width and 108mm Height.

I have a series of fixed revit camera view points that I have been rendering for the last 3 years whcih allows an overlay / slide show showing the schemes progression and had hoped I could miss out the cloud rendering and adopt enscape as a workflow but the enscape view never matches the revit view when opened.
Is there a way to get enscape to exactly match your revit window, viewport size, camera angle etc?

Thank you for your response, unfortunaly whilst it gets it to the same camera position the view window sizes / shape and camera angle dont match between revit and enscape so the output between the two is different. I was hoping that I culd have the two exactly the same

And other resolutions?

This is just meant as a workaround, as the ability to create renderings identically to your Revit view is being requested rather rarely.
Can you give me an example for why exactly you'd require this feature? I can then file it as feature request.

Kaj Burival Besides the general idea of having a good integration with a host-software, the feature could be precisely useful for:
1. integrated workflow:
"what you see is what you get" rule for still images. During the design we go back and forth between Revit and Enscape, tweaking camera angle, position, materials, moving walls etc. Since we all do it through Revit interface, having Enscape show what perspective view shows would make whole process more convenient.2. renders post production:
Post production means image layering. Revit is quite powerful when it comes to visibility settings (hiding certain elements, changing their appearance by parameters etc.) If you could match the perspective view with Enscape rendering, it would mean you could make use of this universe of features (which simple "material mask" does not provide)
PS. By multiple tryouts I could get to match perspective view with Enscape 90 degrees angle. What you need to do is create camera view and resize its width to 320mm. Then just you match the Enscape resolution proportionally. -
Hello.
I have a background photo which I'm trying to composite behind my Enscape sreen capture.
I'm having trouble making my Enscape screen captures match my Revit View with regard to view extents and aspect ratio. I need them, at least, in the same ballpark so I can get similar resolution between the Enscape screen capture and the background image. I have set the aspect ratios in both my Revit View and the Capture Tab of the Enscape Settings dialog to the same value.
Any advice?

Hi jaybehr Please have a look at this post from February of this thread.
It's currently only possible via the mentioned workaround. If you need to have a different FOV you have to change it for Enscape and Revit.
An automated solution is already on our agenda.

I would love to have the ability to go back to a certain "locations" within the enscape window. Using enscape during design is great - except I cannot find a way to go back to views that I have captured. We use these captures regularly during design to convey intent. Being able to return to the same view (precisely) would be very helpful when materials are modified, when adding and removing signage, etc during the design. I have found a very clunky workaround - by turning on the video editor and creating key frames. Just saving views in revit isn't enough - often when you start enscape from a saved view items in the model background are missing.
Update - I see the drop downs for the views now - and I had a workset issue that was causing site objects to not be visible in the resultant revit views. I think I can work with this..

MikeB great to hear you've found the solution!
Indeed, it's really as simple as clicking [Save View]. This will create a new 3D View in your Revit project, saving location, direction and Daytime. Any View Settings, however, are being honored by Enscape once you switch to that view, so sometimes this leads to confusion as users think objects have gone missing.

I think Enscape just needs a 'match Revit FOV' option to snap between the current view, a bit like the view 'home' key.
This feature is very important as any compositing between Revit, Enscape and other add-on renderers need to exactly match the FOV and view aspect.
At the moment, to overlay the view originally created in Enscape at 14.5deg there is a slightly clumsy workaround, adjusting manually to approx 50deg! -

Hey all, not sure if this is going to be of use to anyone but I thought I'd share it anyway.
I've always struggled with matching camera views in Revit for Aerial visuals from Google Earth so I came up with a workflow to match a camera view based on parameters you can get from Google Earth and as I worked with Enscape at the time this workflow will enable you to also match the FOV between Revit and Enscape.
This workflow requires a custom adaptive family which acts as a guide for your camera placement in Revit. Unfortunately snaps don't work when placing the camera but you can get pretty close by zooming in. I made a PDF presentation/guide for my office at the time, so I hope it will be clear enough to follow.
There is a parameter in the family called "Range_Input" ... If Range_Input = 0 , The family will be driven by the the distance between the two placement points. I hope this will make sense once you read the guide and have a play with the family.

When you say "27mm" you mean 27°, right? I can't get it to work. Could you perhaps make a guide with screendumps? Or is there an easier way to solve this now?

Has this been integrated yet? This is fundamental and essential, every other program offers a match viewport feature. I don't understand the logic of not having perspective views match? A perspective view taken by the camera tool in Revit is how most users start a viewport because we can set the scale of the viewport, orient the camera to geometry, and get the crop region set so that we understand what will be captured. Opening that view in Enscape should match. Likewise, it makes no sense that we'd start in Enscape and create 3D view - when you go to it in the project browser it shows up all distorted. It also doesn't allow the crop region to stay consistent (and what happens if you have to access the view from a monitor with different dimensions?).. I really hope this is resolved.
