Hello all,
Can I lower the horizon level? I am using the clear sky box and in my open scene I would need to lower the horizon a little nit.
Any idea?
thanks,
JMF

You could try raising your model; put some geometry about 20-50m below it... I tried, but couldn't really see much difference. You can import a new skybox, but I'm not sure that would work either.
In general raising the model doesn't work. Maybe this function isn't available yet. It exists in other software, so let's wait and see.
Do you mean the fog ground level or the level of the visible horizon? The horizon is currently as it would look like on earth, regarding curvature and height.

I mean the horizon level. I know it is at the right level but we sometimes need to adjust it depending on the geometry of the scene. I can do that in Blender for instance. Would be a nice addition with a simple input box to lower or higher its position.
I think you can set the eye level for that ..
Not exactly, the eye level will not change the horizon if you look straight in one direction. You would have to elevate many hundreds meters above the ground to perceive a slight change in the horizon height.
We try to make the Enscape as realistic as possible without allowing options that are artistic-only and could be misinterpreted as a variation that could happen in reality. Also, the plain horizon is a place holder for the horizon presets or a skybox image which would allow a manual tuning.

I am using enscape for rhino plug in and the issue I am having is that the model is accurate with the ground plane set to world zero. Horizon is rendering way too high and requires a significant photoshop to fix this. Please add a horizon level slider for when the horizon image is off and could be quickly and easily adjusted before the rendering starts

Thank you for providing the image. You are right, there is a bug, the level of our horizon backplates is too high. The issue does not occur when you chose the black background. We will fix this. Thanks!
( been saying that since V2.3)
Sorry! Might have been the case that we tested with the black horizon too often.
I apologize, thanks for not stopping pushing us onto this topic Will be released soon in the hotfix v2.4.2.
When do you plan to issue a v2.4.2 hotfix? I have the same problem with the horizon as my predecessors.
A larger base of "views" would also be useful ...
The option to turn off the horizon should be provided. When doing post this would be very useful. This would be much easier than a customizable height and seems like a no brainer.
I've seen this in Revit as well. However some of our models aren't vertically where they should be so I just stopped being concerned about it. Enscape's image export options (Capture Tab in Revit Enscape) are great because you can turn on separate png exports that show just the background environment, or the model with each material ID colored differently, and then also the combined render. It makes it very easy to select just the environment in photoshop and edit/replace that part. You can also turn off the background & horizon and just have a white background, at least in the Atmosphere tab in the Revit version there is a check box for White Background.
I would think that the horizon from ground plan should be level with your vision or below. Too often we want to show a model with our perspective a little higher than the building looking down at it and in this instance it probably should look higher way off in distance.
Hi, I am an Enscape newbie so apologies if i ask stupid questions.
i would like to ask, how did you make the earth/terrain in your background grey?
Mine is black and very over powering visually.
See attachment for illustration.
seychellian Welcome to the forum! You can change this via our horizon presets in the Atmosphere tab. Just use the dropdown menu to change the preset to White Ground.
I have a similar issue, except I would like to raise the horizon. I am using the "Town" Horizon source and my model appears as if on a hill. It would look much better if I could raise the horizon of the skybox. I thought about trying to move my model down, but all my video scenes would be ruined. Any way to fix this?
