Ripple effect

  • I like the way water ripples as you move past it and that sparked an idea about having other things ripple. But everything else I could think of involved geometry rather than just surfaces...

Can a special Enscape container be defined (a group or component) that would 'ripple' the contents? (See attached images for clarity.)
    - Define the "orientation" of the container; the 'top' remains fixed, the 'bottom' distorts along an 'active face' axis

    - Define the wave form to follow (including setting an amplitude). Set the time over which the wave form will run before looping to repeat.

    Examples of application:

Fixed top - curtains gently moving through the wind of an open window, clothes on a drying line, water from a tap or waterfall, skirt or coat of a figure, ...

Fixed bottom - grass or trees moving in the wind, the flames of candles, bracers or bonfires,...

Fixed side vertical - flags and pennants, jet engines, fish tails, ....

Fixed side flat - waves on a sea shore, flat-fish ....

The idea is that these would just run in a loop while you navigated through the model.
