Navigation through walls and transparent materials

  • This is a "problem" with every modeling package I've ever used - when you are navigating and want to zoom through a wall (or glass) you have to zoom in and in and in and in.... until you pop out the other side.

If there was a threshold of (eg) the central 95% of the screen only showing one texture, could the navigation then ignore that geometry and navigate as if it wasn't there? And have an option to turn on that any geometry with a transparency level >50% becomes ethereal and is ignored by navigation?

  • The zooming (I assume you refer to the mousewheel in fly mode) is independant from geometry. It moves forward in equally large steps defined by your movement speed in the settings.
