An other solution could be if clipping planes could be used, but under the unclipped light conditions.
-
Yes, Micha ! Clipping planes that don't affect light would be a great addition. Especially when rendering interiors and building sections.
Jonathan Knoefel, thanks!
Another suggestion would be to have two light studies: one that shows the radiation and another that shows direct sunlight.
-
The clipping planes in SU don't affect the light (I wish they would sometimes)
-
I wished it would work at Rhino so too. Jonathan Knoefel Is there a chance? It would help a lot, for example I missed it at my last project.

It could be great if the clipping plane would work. And it would be very useful, if the lighting could be kept like without clipping plane enabled. For example I have an interior and I would like to look inside without to get the daylight trough the clipped geometry.
-
Jonathan Knoefel What do you think, are this kind of advanced clipping planes for EfR possible?
-
-
Jonathan Knoefel For Rhino please. My hope is if it works for SU it could be quite easy added for Rhino too.

I come back to this topic with another example.
What you see below is a solar analysis diagram showing the amount of heat on a façade. North side is more cool (blue), couth side is hot(red)
The radiation is calculated for 1 year in Wh/m2 using ladybug in grasshopper.
This is useful when designing shading elements for buildings, adjusting their depth etc.
