I have inserted the MP4 file into the texture slot, and I do see the still image in my rendered Enscape image, but how do I get it to "play" or "animate"?

You have perhaps still enabled "Restmode" in the General Settings -> Performance tab. Remove the check out of the checkbox, and try again please.
Right now the video textures are probably only playing when you're moving, but not when standing still because our rest mode kicks in. Let me know if that doesn't resolve nor explain the problem. -
Demian Gutberlet I've disabled rest mode and my video is still only playing when I move. I've restarted all programs. Any other ideas?

Unchecked restmode, restarded enscape, restared sketchup ...
Nothing works.

If you have also disabled our "Restmode" and this still occurs, please also briefly share the video file with me (ideally in a .zip file) you've used so that I can try reproducing this too. Just to make sure you can also install 3.4.4 which can be acquired here.
