Hi,
It would be good to choose between having the hdri map or just alpha as background. Just as a quick setting for the png export.
Thanks!

Jonathan Knoefel , I thought I remembered something with the check box. Was it like that before? What is the current solution?
Jonathan Knoefel , I would prefer to have the png already with alpha background. sometimes I do quick study renders like 10-20 and there's no time to link the alpha file for each of them. And when printed sometimes is best not to have sky - specially for diagrams.
Hi Bogdan, thank you very much for the clarification. I have filed your remarks as feature request for our developers.
Bumping this old request for transparent background for png renders!!!!
Would be very useful for the works of our firm!
When will this feature be implimented? It's 2019 and I use Enscape full time for my renderings in my construction business.
Having an Alpha channel is a very basic request for exporting. When will this be up and running? This is taking too long for a basic feature request.
The topic has certainly not been forgotten. twebb.project , in the meantime, also be aware that you can also export renderings with "Material-ID and Depth Channel" which may be helpful to you already. You can find this option in the "Capture" tab of our Enscape Settings.
Have we created a method to render with transparent background yet?

AdamLangston , welcome to our forum.
We don’t offer a built-in function for this, but you can export a dedicated Depth Channel alongside your renderings through checking the “Export Object-ID, Material-ID and Depth Channel” functionality in the Visual Settings -> Capture tab.
Also, make sure that the Depth slider is turned all the way to the right, this will ensure that you create a dedicated Alpha channel for the background – combined with some Photo Editing software like Photoshop, you should easily be able to remove/replace any backgrounds from your renderings.
Let me know in case this is not what you're looking for.
Hello!
I'd like to vote for a separate alpha channel for export, too.
It might be possible to extract the alpha from the black background in matID or objectID channels in Photoshop or Affinity Photo, with some color range or magic wand tool, but that can be quite fumbly, and you loose some anti-aliasing precision.
So please, it's a super low hangig fruit, and helps us!
Thanks!!
I agree with you on low hanging fruit part.
I've up-voted the related story we have regarding this in the hope that it will get pushed up the developers agenda here.
Thank you!
Low hanging like in pumpkins on an acre... ; }
