Enscape ecountered a fatal error on startup

  • Hi, I recently received the student license and downloaded the installer Enscape-2.9.0+32504. I can install the program just fine. I tried the automatic and advanced way but the problem remains the same. "Enscape ecountered a fatal error on startup, Open the logs directory?"

    I already updated the graphics card drivers, installed VC_residetx64, I gave the firewall permission for the application, installed previous versions of Enscape and nothing. Also on occasion it has told me in the Logs Folder that the Enscape.dll file was not found. I do not know what to do.

    As a first measure, please uninstall Enscape, then reboot the machine, run the Enscape installer again and in the first window of the installation process, where you will see the checkbox named 'I accept the terms in the License Agreement' make sure that is checked. This will enable the Advanced button which you should then click to proceed to the next window which will offer you the option to install for all users of the machine.

    Let me know if that doesn't help.

    Can you please first download the latest version of Enscape? I see you are still using an early 2.8 version.

    If the issue still occurs afterwards, can you please send in Feedback so we can have a look at the technical specs of your machine?

    You don't need to start Enscape successfully to share feedback.

  • I am facing the same issue "Enscape encountered a fatal error on startup, open the logs directory?", I contacted the Enscape support team however they asked me to send feedback via the feedback button on the Enscape menu bar, but My Enscape menu bar is not available in my Sketchup so I cannot send them information via the Enscape feedback. I've been trying to fix this for the past 3 days, Please help! :(

    In that case, please follow up with the customer support representative that this is not possible.

    Please manually send us the necessary log files in the ticket in that case, you'll find them here:

    Enscape main plugin log files:


    SketchUp plugin log files:


    You can just place all the files that are contained in these folders into a .zip file and send these to us.

  • I am running into the same thing as everyone above and have sent in my logs. Can anyone share how they addressed this? I have been given suggestions, but no solutions. It is starting to get frustrating.

    Normally we also add to this message that if these work arounds do not work for you, to please supply us with new log files so we can help you further trouble shoot this and find a work around, as not every machine is the same there is no general solution to this.

    If this was not added, then please submit new log files to us so we can help you further in the ticket.
