I'm trying to create a linear light emitting from the underside of this handrail. However the emit from line and rectangular shape give me significant scalloping and don't see different from one another. Also when will Enscape support Linear IES files?

Here is an image of the linear IES in dialux. I can't get close to recreating this in enscape with the rectangle or line as they behave more like spotlights and not linear light sources.

Hi!, I would also like to make linear light with escape in Archicad. Does anyone know how to achieve that?

So far, i think, lights is the biggest problem in ENSCAPE. The form should be more custumizable. And also i don't understand the reason to limit the lenght.

Try using self illuminating material.

Hi! Tnx for all sugestions! I used illuminating material, but is not so strong that the light would be visible on the wall, is just reflecting itself a bit. That´s why I think I would need some additional light sourse.
I also find enscape lights a bit limited, Hope we get more customizable options in the future

Up the power of the material, it should go high enough to simulate a nuclear blast.
Assuming you have 24 segments in the shaft of the handle Id try 2 or 3 of them being the self illuminated material.

ok, will try, thank you!
nice renders btw

Thanks 😊
I did an anim of that model yesterday, I use the self illuminating material all over the place, under the kitchen cabinets, behind the mirrors, in the dropped ceiling etc:

I think it’s because in real time rendering , this type of light only creates light from a single point and not across the entire length.
Notice that the shadows come from the direction of the centre of the light.
I would guess The lights themselves have to be shorter , otherwise they would look strange and you’d wonder why shadows aren’t being cast appropriately
