Any updates on object animation in Sketchup?

  • Just updated to Enscape 3.0 for Sketchup. Having the render settings and screenshot controls in the render window are worth the update alone. SO much better! But it looks like object animation with Sketchup is still not possible. Only fly/walk-through animations. is that correct? I have a few projects where I would love to animate some moving parts, like sit/stand desks going up and down and assembly animations for product design. Is this possible with 3.0?

My apologies if this has been asked many time by others. Consider this my +1 for any one of those threads.

  • davidhard , I'm afraid animations are not yet implemented into Enscape nor supported officially. I've gladly forwarded your upvote to the existing feature requests to support/add animations into Enscape - as of now this isn't our main priority though and it could take a while until this will be implemented, that is all there is currently to add. :)

3DMAX has animation functions and better modeling capabilities. It would be better if it can support Autodesk 3dmax.

That has been requested before too - I have forwarded your upvote to the existing topic for our developers to see!

  • I too need this feature, however, you can animate with Twinmotion or use the datasmith plugin to export to Unreal engine, lots of tutorials online to get you going in Unreal, very powerful software.
