I turned on the safe frame button, hoping to display the nine-square grid to help me adjust the camera.

Yulei , thanks a lot - you are not the first to request this and I have gladly forwarded your feedback to our developers as well to state the further demand for this.
In the meantime, you may simply use the following workaround:
- Press V on your keyboard to bring up the Video Editor
- Activate "Show Gridlines"
Then you can position yourself accordingly using the grid and disable the video editor once more by just pressing V again.
