Introducing 3D Bazaar

Please cast your votes in our two ongoing feedback polls here and here!
  • Today, we are proud to release the first public version of 3D Bazaar, our brand-new extension and marketplace for high-quality render-ready SketchUp models.

3D Bazaar offers high-quality models made by the best content creators. Vegetation, furniture, humans, we have it all! And we're adding more and more content on a monthly basis. We optimized each model to work seamlessly with SketchUp and Enscape (and other render engines). Just import them and you're done.

It is not intended to replace the Enscape Asset Library, but work in parallel to it to bring into Enscape assets that are not available in the Asset Library.

You can browse the marketplace on-the-go via our website but the best way to experience 3D Bazaar is to install its SketchUp extension which provides some very nice benefits:

    • Allows you to effortlessly import models into SketchUp, with just one click.
    • Solves the issue that is the bane of many SketchUp users: broken maps and proxies. 3D Bazaar takes care of this chore for you and it becomes a thing of the past.
    • It is even capable of managing & searching your own local library on your computer so that you can access all your contents from one place.

We are looking forward to your feedback. We offer a few high-quality free models that you can download to try out 3D Bazaar!

Finally, here is a Quick Start tutorial to learn how to install and get started with the 3D Bazaar Extension.

3D Bazaar is currently in the beta stage, which means that we warmly welcome bug reports and feedback. Please send details about any technical issue that you encounter to 3dbazaar@lindale.io

  • I've already seen the announcement on other platforms as well, and I think its a great supplement for the enscape library! its well designed, seems to have some great contributors on board already, and just widens the posibilities in an easy way! Great work :-)
One small feature that I would really like to see is the ability to place local assets as Enscape proxies (linked models) instead of full geometry. If this is not an option it is really not a viable way to access our own libraries in most cases. a shame, as it could be my go-to tool for organising all my stuff!!
And, if we are adding to the wish list, being able to place these proxies with simplified geometry (instead of wire boxes) would be really cool!! maybe a little transmutr magic code could do the trick?

Again, thanks for releasing this! I cant wait to see what it can do in the future with Skatter v2 :-)

  • Thanks for your feedback!

This is something we are going to explore with Transmutr. I guess it should be possible, but the models need to be in another file format (GLTF instead of SKP), so there is quite a lot of work to create this feature.

When importing proxies downloaded from the marketplace, they should already be displayed as simplified (actually the same as "Skipped faces" from Transmutr) instead of wired boxes.

    Thank you for the reply!

The first feature should not be that hard? Enscape already has an option to place other sketchup models as proxies (linked models). is it not possible to somehow "tap" into this functionality?

And the second wish was actually ment in regard to this :-) ... Placing these local, linked models with simplified geometry instead of the wireboxes that enscape uses as standard for this... This is where transmutr comes into place ;-)

    Does this make sense?

Oh I misunderstood your previous post, my bad!

Indeed this should be fairly easy. We just need to see how to integrate it in the UI.

    That's a lot more complicated!

We have plans to link 3D Bazaar and Transmutr somehow, maybe even merge them. We don't exactly how this will work, but it's definitely planned.

Great to hear! And I'm completely aware that my second wish is a lot more complicated ;-) But if this is somehow possible in the future, it will be a real gamechanger, as we can then pull models into a scene much quicker with the visual references needed to place them correctly. At the moment we have to create dedicated custom assets in enscape, and this is a lot more time consuming and cumbersome :-)

  • i am a little hyped :D i love your Products and use Skatter and Transmutr neraly every Day at Work. I saw the "Marketplace Idea" on the Roadmap two years ago and was really excited! Somehow i missed the release but i will test it right now! Great work and a big compliment for what you and your team have done! thx

  • this makes it even more impressive :)

btw, first look is awesome! In combination with, Quixel Bridge -> Transmutr -> Marketplace (Personal Libary) -> Skatter, i can import an work fast with all my assets and generate quick and easy new skatter Presets...

Herbo already mentioned the "enscape proxie" option. this would be great but for now it works really fine.

Are you planing a subscription-option or something like that?

  • Do you mean for the content?

exactly... i have something in mind like: 120,00€ Year Subscription and every month i can download 10 Models... i hope you know what i mean.

the background of the question is, i work in a office and i dont want to ask my boss to buy me every model i like or need for the work. Instead my supervisor would buy me an 1 Year subscription and i can personal look for models that i need and purchase them...

as an example the subscription of textures.com https://www.textures.com/pricing

  • We are thinking about something like that. But it’s very tricky because the assets do not belong to us, but are created by third-party vendors. So splitting the revenue with them is not straightforward, it would have to be based on downloads or other metrics.

But this is definitely on our minds.

In your case, would it help if you could purchase a bunch of credits that you can spend afterwards?
