Too dark shadows

Hello

I've recently started using Enscape, and I love the software. Especially the VR part.

However I am having a few issues. The main problem is shadows. I've tried tweaking exposure, sun brightness, ambient lighting etc, but its hard to get shadows thats not just black spots. Do anyone have any suggestions?

I think it might be a problem that I've used too dark tint on my materials. I got it a bit better when reducing the tint level.

One other problem that frequently arise when playing around with this, is that exposure and some other settings in Enscape causes revit to hang for a period of several seconds.

Some times it is quick to respond, some others it is a pain to move sliders within enscape settings. I havent really been able to pinpoint the cause.

I've worked a bit with a different model today. Getting better, but still having the issue with a bit dark grass. Especially if I have auto exposure enabled and have the camera tilted so a lot of the skybox is in the picture

I'm really struggling to get good results with shadows. When I use very light material it works OK, but when I'm using some darker colors, the shadows allmost becomes black. I'm adjusting colors of my material with "tint" in revit, is this a bad practice? Is there any other ways to reduce the darkness of the shadows? I've tried to reduce sun intensity and exposure in Enscape, this kinda works, but other problems occur. See the difference in my screenshot between dark and light materials

Yea, I tested contrast, but it doesnt help much on the dark shadows. I can get brighter shadows in two ways. Either adjust the material ligher than desireable or by dimming the sun to 20-30% and add much more exposure. However the last option gives a generally poor result on everything else.

One other workaround I've tested that works is to add a small amount of self illumination on the material, but this will probably causes other undesirable results.

Gadget , I've seen the trick with clouds as well, however I'm mostly using a panorama as background. I dont think I can get any clouds combined with a custom background.

If I reduse the sunlight brightness then adjust exposure, everything looks faded
