Is it possible to have the Sketchup opacity slider work differently depending on if the material is named glass or not? For instance I have some black silhouette figures in my scene that I want to show at 50% opacity. The material name is just black, but if I adjust the opacity it becomes reflective black glass. Can we limit this to only happen if the word glass is in the name?

Right now, making an object transparent also makes it glossy. That works fine for most surfaces. You can however override this with the keywords.

Try naming them: "black fabric", then it should work with a low transparency without looking like glass.

I was looking at the keywords, you are missing one "marble" works great for counter tops.

You are right! Marble was missing. You deserve an award for figuring that out

Thanks Thomas. I'll give it a shot.

Using the Fabric tag removes the reflectivity, but it also fails to show any opacity.

Thanks EarthMover, we'll fix that.
