Probably not in the works however I would like to encourage this as a future feature.
Allow objects to cast or not cast shadows.
Take reference to other render engines as this is a creative feature for "faking" situations when it calls for it.
being that the reflections in enscape are ScreenSpace the quality isn't always that great with objects within the scene. I like to sometimes fake refections with image planes and the majority of the time works out really great. In some situations, however, where we have to do sun studies this method has some challenges.
