Enscape Materials in Rhino losing their properties (losing Enscape type property)

    Hi Enscape forum,


    I have been having a recurring problem with Enscape materials in Rhino.

    I need some help troubleshooting it.


    I have been setting up materials by defining them as "Enscape type" materials so I can edit them in the Enscape material editor (set albedo, bumb, roughness, etc). However, for some unknown reason, every time I open the rhino file back up those materials lose their "Enscape" type properties, and with them some of the material properties associated with them (roughness and bump).


    So, just to clarify, the materials still exist and are still displayed in the render preview. However, some of their qualities are lost (like their reflectivity and their bump) when the materials automatically lose their Enscape type property - which I have to turn back on manually and re-link the images associated with them. :rolleyes:


    This is incredibly cumbersome every time I need to re-render the project and therefore I would love to get your guys' opinion on the matter. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Since this does not sound normal at all, please also kindly send us a Feedback report with your log files as described here. Before submitting the report, please make sure to also include a link to this thread in the Feedback report submission form which opens after you click the Feedback button itself in the Enscape ribbon.


    Thanks a lot in advance, this way we can check out your log files accordingly for any hints which may cause this problem - otherwise we will escalate this further to our developers.

    It has happened to me several times. after properly saving the file, the next time I open my rhino file all the enscape material are turned into rhino material and lost all the settings and properties. I have to spend many hours to re configure everything.
