Mac Support Main Overview Thread

  • Hi I've just started using Enscape and I love it!

However I've come across a problem in the last couple of days - enscape was working fine for a day or so before it suddenly stopped working for my sketchup 2021 file. I've updated my Mac's software and have tried restarting, redownloading and even copying and pasting my model into other files and it still does the same thing. Enscape will begin to start however as soon as it loads the file it will just suddenly quit and turn off. This has happened for the last couple of days and I don't know what else to do.

    Any suggestions?

Hi ellie1013 … Enscape doesn’t work with the latest Mac OS. We recently updated our software too and everything stopped working. We had to completely wipe the hard drive and re-install the previous Mac operating system. Was a total pain, but it all worked fine after doing so.

Maybe Enscape will fix this in due course, but I think by Demian Gutberlet generic reply; there’s no fix in progress… Demian Gutberlet - please correct us if we’re wrong?

    Hope that helps.

Pardon the confusion, the feedback report including log files was requested because it seems the user was running into problems even before updating to the latest version of Mac OS.

I can hereby tell you though that our latest internal version of Enscape for Mac (not out just yet) is already working with the latest release of Mac OS. During the time when our first Enscape for Mac Beta was released, the latest version of Mac OS you were using was not out yet though, so it is indeed not officially supported quite yet. Still, it won't be too much longer until another update is coming out, so stay tuned.

  • Demian Gutberlet Thanks for clarifying that. Great to hear another update is imminent and that the latest Mac OS is supported. Was a nightmare having to downgrade last week.

Can you share the features which will be added to this update ? It’s nice to be kept in the light somewhat as to the roadmap of these and future releases :)

Here’s to praying animations will be supported soon - I’m sure every other user will be feeling the same.

    All the best,

  • Gave it a spin last night. (Mac Studio)

Pretty promising. Might be the best of all the ones I tested so far.

I just love this tight integration with SketchUp. Eases everything.

    Some auto-configured materials impressed me.

and speed also. (I guess the M1 does help)

Eager to test the assets. 8)

  • Hi There, with Apple support being implemented - is there an option to export a standalone file that will work on Mac just like the exe does for PC?

We pass on these files to clients some times and it would be a lot better to have an OS independent option out there.

Apologies if this is already available from the Mac beta - I haven't bothered running Enscape on a Mac as I don't use Sketchup.

It would be a good feature request to enable exporting from PC (and Mac) to both PC and Mac compatible standalone files... Logically this would be possible in some way or other (likely two separate export files?). If we could use the same file that would be amazing, but understandably unlikely. (Like a BimX file).

High end iPad (Pro) support would be excellent, even with lower fidelity rendering....!

  • Hey Toscano

Thank you for your message! We plan to deliver Enscape for Mac for all supported (Mac compatible) host software packages eventually, but there is currently no timeline we could provide. A little patience :)

    Hey Thiefsie

An export standalone function is currently not available in the Mac version of Enscape. Please feel free to leave us feedback about this:

It's much appreciated! Thank you in advance.

You CAN export a Web Standalone from both OS versions, though. These run on both systems respectively. Maybe that's a solution until we provide an offline standalone? You can find more info on this in this Knowledgebase Article

  • I've got a late model 1) M1 Max MacBook Pro w 32 cores and 64gb ram and 2) Razer laptop with i9 processor, 32gb ram and 3080RTX graphic card. Performance is suitable with both systems on complex scenes (500gb files w lots of artificial lighting reflections). Framerate is smoother with the 3080 RTX. I'm planning to benchmark batch rendering same SketchUp project and compare overall times. Will update ASAP.

  • I wish I had known I was purchasing a shell of a program for $$$! Enscape for Mac is missing a lot of features, it crashes all the time, is FULL of bugs and glitches and should still be in Beta testing. I don't know how you manage to feel it's ok to charge for this!

I am sorry to hear about your frustration and can also understand it if you were running into crashes. When it comes to that and/or bugs themselves please simply make sure to forward them to our support team through the Feedback Button (including your logs if it's for a crash) though so that we can assist you further with those problems.

On the main Mac page we also clearly list the functionalities which are included and those that are still going to be added in the near future. At the bottom, you can also sign up for our newsletter if you want to keep updated directly on what's newly added. Be aware that you can also use the same license for Enscape for Windows of course, just so you know this option exists.

Thank you in advance for any reports through said button which will allow us to either resolve your problem(s) right away, or forward them to our developers for further troubleshooting.

Yeah, it's not even remotely ready for prime time! Let alone charging people for it! It's crashed on me 5 times today and now is refusing to even open.

None of this addresses how you're charging people for a program that should still be in Beta.

Using this on Windows is not a great workaround for a Mac owner. I have no desire to install Bootcamp and run this on Windows.

Does your computer meet the minimum system requirements? https://enscape3d.com/communit…ystem-requirements-macos/

  • Yes, because it may have fallen under the radar when sys regs where written.

Why should a M1 Mini 16 GB be less suited than a MBA 8GB.

Well there is a Enscape on Mac for Vectorworks Test overdue, but so far the

M1 Mini runs great with a non-native, non-optimized Twinmotion though.

  • I have recently downloaded a trial version of Sketchup for Mac and Enscape for Mac, to test out performance rather than buying a windows pc 🤢

After installing both apps, sketchup seems to run fine but I cannot seem to find anywhere to launch Enscape? I have looked in the installed extensions and Enscape does not appear….is it not possible to run trial version of Enscape in the trial version of Sketchup?

Any help would be appreciated before my trials expire

Ps I am using a MacBook Pro M1 Max 32gb ram so shouldn’t have any limitations with specs
