Mac Support Main Overview Thread

    SandyCohen desktop standalone (exe on Windows, something similar will be on Mac) runs the same Enscape engine as CAD plugins do, so the quality will be the same as you see while using Enscape with Sketchup.

    HELLO DEAR ENSCAPE TEAM ,


    I test the Mac enscape ,and there is some bugs maybe to repoert to ENSCAPE TEAM to improve .
    1, when I click the button set a light, nothing happen.
    2, when I close the enscape window,the gpu is still work until I quit the enscape app.But,once I quit the enscape app on dock, the enscape cannot open again until restart the sketchup.


    I have a record to show this.
    MY machine have intel,i9 32g,5500m 8g.

    We also get this bug whereby you have to restart SketchUp to use Enscape.


    This occurs every time for us when you close Enscape whilst using SketchUp, and then to re-open Enscape again you have to restart SketchUp.

    I do suppose you debug it on a Mac. Can I ask you which processor do you use? M1?, M1 pro? M1 max?

    Ram? 32? 64? Of course the more RAM, the more performance... Isn't it?

    Can you kindly tell us when you envisage the video editor being added … ? And also importantly when will the MAC beta officially end, or will it stay live until the full release is ready?


    It would be great to understand a bit more about the timeline for the development / updates so we can plan the incorporation of this software into our studio. Any indication here would be greatly appreciated.

    Ir will be very useful know more about the timeline, development, release of plugins (archicad, vectorworks, rhino), and the rest of features ro match win version.

    I downloaded the Mac Beta (Sketchup) Enscape plugin and am testing it now on my MacBook Pro. I do have a couple questions...


    1. When will the Enscape Asset Library be available for the Mac (Sketchup version)?

    2. I noticed in the Visual Settings "Atmosphere" tab, there is no place to add a Skybox image, like the Windows version has. When will this feature be added to the Mac version? It's a very important feature to load site specific Skybox photos as background imagery.

    You can add a skybox in the 'Sky' tab in Visual settings.


    You'll find it under 'Horizon' and then 'Source'... hope that helps.

    Hi, I am not a professional, just a customer. My architect sent me a standalone executable for me to review. But I am a Mac user?? So I downloaded and installed Parallels with Windows11 on my mac to try to visualize his work. I get an error message that "This app can’t run on your PC, To find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher".

    It cannot hurt to receive a Feedback Report in this case as well - Pretty much whenever you encounter any issues within the Open Beta Mac version, as we're still ironing out the kinks of course and the provided logs/machine info can additionally be helpful in order to do so, so thanks in advance.

    I'm afraid Parallels does not support Enscape (more specifically Vulkan 1.1) or its executables, therefore - You should be able to make use of Bootcamp instead in this case, although we cannot guarantee at this point that this will work without any problems as it's not something which we officially support, yet we heard many positive reports about the use of Enscape + Bootcamp before so it may be worth a try if you have the chance.


    An alternative hereby may also be receiving a Web Standalone of the project, or panoramas, in addition/instead, but I can of course also fully understand the want to use our .exe standalones instead.

    Thank you for the further questions and high interest in the Mac version of Enscape. We do appreciate all the positive input and Feedback so far, yet I am unfortunately not able to say much at the moment about any further release dates for features or further supported software. In this case, I can only kindly ask you to stay tuned and await further updates which will be coming out frequently. :)


    Also, SandyCohen , the Open Beta version of Enscape for Mac should be available and useable until its full official release. Further, since we also plan on reworking the Video Editor it is one of the features which may be added a bit further down the road to Mac as well, but again, there is not much I can add at the moment.

    Thanks Demian Gutberlet ... curious to know how we extend the BETA when the countdown ends... Currently when we log in we get the 'X amount of days left on the trial' prompt... Is this a matter of just signing up for another trial or another method?


    RE video editor: We truly hope this will come soon in the roadmap, as it's really the feature which we are patiently waiting for... and one which sets you apart from other programs right now. Looking forward to hearing the progress as and when. :)

    Hi to everyone Mac users!

    I'm too, since 1984. So, you could imagine how happy to come back to my Mac using Enscape.

    But there is a little problem: my machine is too old to run the newest OS. In fact I can't go over High Sierra.

    Now, what I ask you is: please, could you tell me about your machine? Processor and RAM, OS and model.

    In that way, I could buy the right Mac.

    I'm looking for a 14'' macbook because when I'm at studio, I could use my 28'' Samsung, but when I'm on the road, I do prefer a small computer; I think you could do agree. But I'm in trouble with the CPU/GPU: M1 pro? max? 16 GB? 32GB?

    I know: the more is better, but not for my wallet!

    Enscape is heavily GPU dependent. IMO don't bother with MacBook Air. Get top end 14" MacBook Pro.

    - Apple M1 Max with 10-core CPU, 32-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine (14")

    If you want to save money check out Razer. http://www.razer.com. I use both purchased fall 2021:

    - Apple M1 Max chip with 10-core CPU, 32-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine

    - Razer Blade 15 Advanced Model - QHD 165Hz - GeForce RTX 3080 - Black (i9 CPU).

    Razer is less $$$ and noticeably faster rendering / frame rate.

    Hi I've just started using Enscape and I love it!

    However I've come across a problem in the last couple of days - enscape was working fine for a day or so before it suddenly stopped working for my sketchup 2021 file. I've updated my Mac's software and have tried restarting, redownloading and even copying and pasting my model into other files and it still does the same thing. Enscape will begin to start however as soon as it loads the file it will just suddenly quit and turn off. This has happened for the last couple of days and I don't know what else to do.


    Any suggestions?
