....Twinmotion - Path Tracing

Just testing out the latest TM update that now includes Path Tracing and.....I'm seriously impressed. As quick test, I replaced all the window materials in their Lakehouse Retreat model with mirrors and...just...wow.

Do we have any indication from Enscape team on path tracing becoming a feature of Enscape in the future?

"The minimum recommended graphic card needs to meet the following criteria listed below, but please refer to the System Requirements for the full details:

• 6 GB of dedicated GPU memory.
• A PassMark Software benchmark score over 10,000 (can be confirmed here).
• Make sure the latest GPU drivers are installed.
• If you want to take advantage of the GPU accelerated Path Tracer renderer, you will need more than 8 GB of Vram and your GPU will have to support DXR, which requires Windows DirectX 12. Nvidia RTX, AMD RX, and Intel ARC GPUs can perform hardware-accelerated ray-tracing.
• Note: Apple does not provide hardware-accelerated ray-tracing yet and is therefore not supported by the Path Tracer. "

If I were you I'd be unimpressed as well...since you don't have the hardware to run it and see for yourself.

I consider this first release to be beta but ray/path tracing is 100% the way forward.

But to be clear, you haven't actually used it yet - right?

I 100% use Enscape for all my 3D rendering. I also try TM from time to time just to keep up with updates. This last one was a big one in that it added Spacemouse support and Path Tracing.

Ran it on my 1080ti and it rendered easily for single/still images, but definitely not anywhere near realtime performance. I don't think realtime is the intended use though, even with the RTX tech available today. I see it as a "next step" render method to add onto the realtime setting for better stills- particularly where reflections are a problem in realtime methods. I too would love to see this implemented in Enscape.

Plenty of misc. shortcomings in TM for sure, which is why I use Enscape. But updates like these always have me wanting.
