Enscape won't won't appear as Plug-in SketchUp

  • Hello!

My SketchUp and Ensacpe have been working great till something happened.

I have the latest version of SketchUp AND Enscape. I have unloaded, reloaded several times. Ensacpe will not show up as an installed extension. I've looked under the main toolbar and under tool menus. NOTHIN'! HELP!

  • Hi ant2070

    Welcome to our forum.

In case you haven't done so already, could you please uninstall Enscape, reboot your machine, and re-install our latest release as found here  once more, this time for "all users" as seen here?

Can you verify you are still unable to see the Enscape toolbar following the steps in our Knowledgebase article here then?

  • I just switched from Sketchup 2021 to 2022. I have tried to add enscape, and have downloaded and run the installer but I still can't access it. I still have 2021 on my computer. What do I do?

Welcome to our Forum, I'm sorry to hear about that, but SketchUp 2022 is not yet supported but will be with our next release 3.3.

Meanwhile, we recommend using 2021 further still, you should not miss out on too much anyway.

  • If you recently tried out SU22 be aware that afterwards every *.SKP will open in SU22 instead of SU21.
In only the later E3D is yet present and functional.

  • I was having the same problem and was saddened to see that 3.2 doesn't yet support SketchUp '22. Any idea on when Enscape 3.3 might drop? I saw "Spring 2022", but I didn't know if there was a tentative date.
    Thanks!

3.3 will be released in about 1 1/2 months - Our latest preview 6 does already support SketchUp 2022 as well though, in case you want to give it a try. :)

  • Facing the same problem!

I hope you guys come up with an awesome update for Sketchup 2022 if we're going to wait that long!!

I guess I'll have to go back to using Sketchup 2021 until then. :*(

You've tried our latest preview and weren't able to make use of Enscape in SketchUp 2022? Because our latest release does not support SU 2022 yet.

Also, please make sure to do the following as otherwise, you'll run into problems indeed:

why have'nt you said that in your site?? I just have purchased Enscape now and I have sketchup 2022... If I want to install 2021 I have to uninstall 2022! This is not fair at all.

You can already make use of Enscape with SU 2022 using our latest preview which you can acquire here. Enscape 3.3 will also be released in less than two weeks - I am sorry about this misunderstanding but we do not state anywhere that our current release supports SketchUp 2022, so I do hope you will just be able to make use of the preview until 3.3 comes out officially. In the future, you can also always refer to our system requirements here.

Let me know if you require any further assistance!

  • I just upgraded to Sketchup 2022 but can't get Enscape to work with it. Enscape just doesn't show up in the View/Toolbar menu. I've tried reinstalling Enscape and even tried a workaround, which was suggested in this forum for earlier Sketchup upgrades, as follows:

    Quote from MatthiasL

Install SKP2021, go to your user folder, subfolder AppData\Roaming\Sketchup\Sketchup2020\SketchUp\Plugins, copy the folder "enscape" and the file "enscape.rb" to AppData\Roaming\Sketchup\Sketchup2021\SketchUp\Plugins and you're set.

This workaround didn't work for me for the Sketchup 2022 upgrade.

    Any suggestions?

  • Hi charlievector

    Welcome to our forum.

I have merged your thread into this one to prevent multiple threads on the same topic.

As seen in Demian last post, we already support SketchUp 2022 with our 3.3 preview, however we will release our 3.3 version today.

  • I'm embarrassed now. As an 8 year veteran of SketchUp, I just started to write a comment about how the latest version of Enscape still wasn't working with SketchUp 2022 because the Enscape buttons weren't showing up in the tool set the same way it always did in previous iterations, even after I verified that Enscape was listed as an installed extension in the "Extension Manager". I was feeling angry and frustrated. I had the whole thing typed out and was about to hit Reply. But then I realized that this latest version simply needs to be selected as an active tool:

"View"-->"Toolbars..." (then check the Enscape box).

Good thing I didn't publicly confess to making such an amateur mistake.
