Please cast your votes in our two ongoing feedback polls here and here!
  • Sorry, may I ask if you have any plans to add a snowy weather event program in the near future?

No problem! At least for now weather, in general, is not on our agenda in the near future - but, as always I have gladly forwarded your upvote to the topic.

  • Thalles Eduardo , please kindly also include an English translation to your posts that are not in English so everyone can read what you're saying. :)

Madiyorbek , weather effects/animated models are currently not planned for the near future but your feedback wish to have this implemented has been forwarded!

  • That's such a beefy update! Thank you Enscape team.

Could you please explain what do you mean by edgy edge cases?

    • Some very edgy edge cases that don't make sense in the Enscape material system are not included in two-way sync
  • I have an geforce 2070 but can't get the nvidia DLSS checkbox stays greyed out and I cannot check it. The other two new checkboxes (denoiser and raytraced sun shadows) are enabled.

Are you using an RTX 2070 or GTX2070 card? DLSS will only be available for RTX cards

  • Also, sometimes I'm having some weird results in restmode, sometimes after moving the camera a little, my view turns pink/orange in restmode like it's lit by neon lights. It doesn't look all that bad, but not quite the effect we're going for :)

Which driver version do you have installed? DLSS 2 requires an up to date Nvidia driver to work. If that's not the case feel free to contact our support with some log files!

Thanks for the report! We're aware that this may happen occasionally with this build and will fix it for the release. It should however usually go away after moving the camera a little.

The shadow of the sun is too sharp, please provide a softer option

The ray traced sun shadows might not match the shadow mapped ones in all scenarios, but there's still the sun shadow sharpness slider you can adjust as before. However looking at those images the ray traced version is actually way more correct as the small detail of the table is not completely lost anymore. You might not want to have this effect in this particular scene due to the curtains on the window - we can't really simulate the light diffusion they'd give at the moment - but that's a different topic and not a failure of the technique ;)

  • Really nice improvements (the Revit material editor will really simplify our work) !

Does the ray traced shadows for sun means that we could expect a full support for hdr lighting ? That would be really really great...

    Cheers

That was it! Updated to latest studio driver and the checkbox is available now.

Kudos to the rendering engineers, pretty amazing jump of quality as far as I'm concerned. Especially in my conceptual models were I'm getting clean white surfaces even with suboptimal lighting conditions.

  • Here's the Release Notes for the latest Enscape v3.1 Preview - Version 8.

Please refer to this article for instructions on how to download the Preview version.

Note: Preview versions are not production proven, so make sure to observe the Known Issues in the attached .pdf document and please report any other issues back to us either on this thread or via the normal support channels.

    What’s included:

    - New Features:

    • NVIDIA DLSS Support
Enscape 3.1 comes with NVIDIA DLSS technology which automatically improves rendering performance without any noticeable loss in image quality. The deep learning based upscaling technique renders internally at a lower resolution, but outputs a clean and sharp high resolution image for both high quality videos and high performance virtual reality walk-throughs.

Frame rate improvements depend on your output (monitor or capturing) resolution. We've measured speed-ups ranging from 75% (1080p) to 200% increase in fps (frames per second) for above 4k resolutions.

NVIDIA DLSS will be active by default if you run Enscape with an NVIDIA RTX GPU (graphics card). The setting can be found under the 'General Settings' -> 'Rendering' option.

    • NVIDIA Real-Time Denoiser
We have integrated the NVIDIA Real-Time Denoisers library into Enscape to offer an improved, state of the art image denoising solution for interactive walk-throughs. It reduces the amount of noise visible in indirect lighting and reflections, especially indoors. We recommend having it enabled especially in conjunction with NVIDIA DLSS as the AI upscaling requires a mostly noise free image to achieve the best results.

      Known issues:
      • Low roughness materials currently look slightly blurrier than without the Real-Time Denoiser enabled
      • Sometimes purple/pink light (flashing) might be visible, this usually goes away when moving the camera.
      • Enscape might crash (Device lost error), when creating screenshots in Collaboration Mode, or when canceling a rendering (please deactivate the Denoiser in the General Settings if you experience such issues).

    • Ray Traced Sun Shadows
Enscape now supports the ray tracing of shadows as a consequence of sun light which improves the visual quality of the shadows. This feature is now available when rendering a still image or a panorama only. Ray traced shadows will also be shown in the rest mode, so as to allow previewing of a rendering. This feature is currently only available when using an NVIDIA RTX GPU. You need to enable RTX ray tracing and the ray traced sun shadows in the General Settings dialog. When activated, ray traced sun shadows are active in all of the Enscape Rendering Quality options found in the Visual Settings dialog.

The above new features are all to be found under the General Settings -> Performance area:

    • View Management Improvements
Native CAD Views can now be renamed within Enscape's View Management feature. This means you no longer have to switch back to the respective CAD to rename a View.

    • Enscape Material Editor for Revit
Revit users can also now edit materials via the Enscape Material Editor editor. In general, there is a two-way sync between both the Enscape Material Editor and the native Revit Material Editor. Workarounds (grass keyword, video texture, displacement maps) continue to function as before, but only up until an initial change to the material from within the Enscape Material Editor (just like keywords in other CAD's).

      Known limitations:
      • Only Revit versions 2019 and later are supported
      • Only works for materials that are "Generic" in Revit
      • Some materials don't have a two-way sync due to limitations in the Revit API
      • Some other possible limitations may include:
        • Texture offset is not supported in the Enscape Material Editor
        • Tint color works a bit differently in Enscape Material Editor, therefore no full two-way sync
        • Specular is not included in two-way sync
        • Some very edgy edge cases that don't make sense in the Enscape material system are not included in two-way sync

    -Known Issues:

    • The Material Library is not fully implemented in this Preview version so, the feature, although present, is currently redundant.

    - Notable Bug Fixes:

    • Incorrect centering of objects in the Enscape Custom Asset Editor
    • Crash during downscale of Web Standalone Export files (watchdog timeout)

A full list of Bug Fixes and Known Issues can be found in the attached document. Please refer to the bug's / issue's associated ID number when contacting Enscape Support in relation to any of the listed items.
