I'm sorry to hear that - Does this still persist? And if so, you can share the following log files with me:

    Enscape main plugin log files:

    C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Enscape\Data\Logs

    CAD plugin log files:

    C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Temp\Enscape\Logs\Enscape*CAD*Plugin

Since you might be using Vectorworks, please replace that instead of *CAD* in the filepath accordingly, so EnscapeVectorworksPlugin. You can put all the files in a .zip folder and submit that file with your next reply.

Also, does this only persist in our latest preview then, and not with our latest release?

    Dear Forum Community,

We've just released the latest Enscape v3.5 Preview - Version 16.

    NEW:

AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.1 Support

Enscape now utilizes AMD’s state of the art temporal upscaling technique for sharper images and improved performance. FSR2 is enabled by default as long as DLSS is not activated.

Backside Materials in Reflections & Global Illumination

For CADs that support assignment of different front & backside materials, the backside material is now correctly visible in reflections and global illumination (previously only front sides were considered). This further eliminates the inconsistencies, especially visible in mirror reflections.

    UPDATE:

Improved Sun Shadow Quality for Orthographic Camera

Sun shadows appear now much sharper & more detailed when using an orthographic camera.

Improved Global Illumination Quality in VR

We’ve improved both global illumination quality and lighting in reflections in VR for “Ultra” rendering quality. In most scenes indirect lighting looks sharper and exhibits less artifacts compared to before.

    VR Controller Teleportation Improvements

Controller only vibrates on teleportation failure now. Fixed issue with accidental teleportation when trigger remained pressed.

    BUGFIXES:

    Artificial Light Rendering

In the previous Preview release (15) artificial lights were rendered incorrectly (blocky artifacts) when the renderer window was resized.

Please refer to this article for instructions on how to download the Preview version.

If you wish to get a full overview of what's been added with Enscape 3.5 Preview 15 and full releases prior, check out this release/preview notes gathering thread here.

Preview versions are not production-proven, so be aware that there can be issues, and please report any of them back to us either on this thread or via the normal support channels. Doing so will help us with providing an even more stable and reliable product in the future.

    REVIT 2024 is out.

Hope ENSCAPE 3.5 release is closer and it is going to be compatible.

    https://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2024/ENU/

We're in the process of adding compatibility for Revit 2024 as soon as we can with either our release 3.5, or via a service pack soon thereafter.

Actually I am going to correct myself here. There IS a vibration feedback in 4.4, but it is so subtle that it always registered at "button pressed" feedback. The vibration in 3.5 is way to strong. Whiel we are on the topic of teleporting: Sometimes when pressing the trigger I teleport multiple times in quick succession an end up on the other side of the universe involuntarily. Easily reproduces when squeezing the trigger slowly. There is a "zone" in the trigger which registers as press and the code fails to check if the trigger was released again before firing a second "pressed" event. Easily fixable.

burggraben just a heads-up for this: We've adopted the VR teleportation behavior as suggested. Feel free to give it a try in this new Preview :)

:эскиз: Я установил новую версию Enscape 3.5+16, я хотел рендерить, но она не рендерится, прошел 1 час

"I installed the new version of Enscape 3.5+16, I wanted to render, but it does not render, it took 1 hour"

I'm sorry to hear about that. Right away, does it make a difference in loading the scene if you to disable Ray-tracing:

If not, please also ensure your graphics card drivers are up to date and kindly submit a feedback report with logs too - Should you experience this only with a specific project, then is there also a chance for you to also please share that scene with me? You can just upload the file(s) to wetransfer.com for example and attach the download link here with your next reply or send it to me via a direct message.

    When does it releases? :)

Our latest preview 16 is already released and can be found here, our full official release of Enscape 3.5 will be available in about a month. Stay tuned. :)

  • I upgraded from version 3.4.1 +85781 to this preview version. After that, I opened a model in Sketchup that worked with my previous version. It was around 800MB, it took noticeably longer to load and then it refused to render, it just hung and I had to use Task Manager to close it. I tried several times to the same result. Eventually, I reverted back to my old version, and viola! it worked. Not sure why but looks like the old version was more stable and could handle bigger models.

I have an RTX 3090 with 24GB Ram as well as 128GB system ram.

    Dear Forum Community,

We've just released the latest Enscape v3.5 Preview - Version 17.

    NEW:

    Adjustable Assets

With this preview version the Enscape Asset Library supports adjustable assets. We also added 103 adjustable assets, which you can find by filtering for the "Adjustable" tag.

Adjustable assets come in two flavors: Assets with variants and assets with customizable colors or materials. If an asset has multiple variants, you can switch between them by clicking on the small variant thumbnails.

To customize an asset you need to use the asset library in the Enscape window. Here, a customization icon indicates whether an asset (or more precisely: the currently selected asset variant) can be customized:

When you select a previously placed assets in Enscape, you now see a list of your selected assets (grouped by their variant):

You can click on a list entry to change the selected variant of the assets or to customize their colors or materials:

Note that some of the new adjustable assets can have scaling or texture issues. We will fix these issues until the Enscape 3.5.0 release.

    Revit 2024 Support

We have now added Revit 2024 compatibility with our latest preview which will also be included in release 3.5.

    UPDATE:

Enscape Account Login via Single Sign-on

The Enscape accounts now use a single sign-on via web browser. Because of this change, you need to login again.

You can always acquire our latest preview here.

  • burggraben just a heads-up for this: We've adopted the VR teleportation behavior as suggested. Feel free to give it a try in this new Preview :)

Tested and works great. I really like the fact that there is now no haptic feedback when teleport is successful, but there is a haptic feedback when the teleport ist unsuccessful. That is exactly the way is should be as on a sucessful teleport I have visual feedback anyway, but on a unsuccessful feedback I have no visual feedback, so the haptic feedback is actually helpful.

Can I suggest one more thing? I am frequently on large sites that include the surroundings of a building. Typically a 4000x4000m square. This is useful because you can model the view you get out of a projects window. Sometimes I end up on the other end of it and need to go back to the building.

In 3. 4 I exploited the bug that teleports are executed in quick succession when the trigger is held in a certain dead zone, between no press and full pressed. It would be much more intuitive if Enscape would repeatedly execute teleports when the trigger is fully pressed. Just the same way a keyboard works. To type a single "!" I press the trigger once. To type "!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I just keep the key down. Please consider doing the same for teleports.

Also, here is a bug report about washed out colors for the latest alpha. In 3.5 in VR the colors are very washed out. It is definitely a software issue, because when the desktop is viewed in VR, then the colors are not washed out. See VR screenshot below, with the VR view in the background with washed out colors and a desktop overlay without washed out colors. Problem does not exist in 3.4.

  • Demian Gutberlet There seems to be a scale issue affecting the boxing glove asset

Also Enscape will not even open, even in a fresh completely blank Sketchup file. Further update it crashes in a blank rhino file as well.

The Program crashes before Im able to send the feedback.

    • Official Post

Thank you for the feedback, I'll forward it right away. Regarding the report itself, kindly send us one manually including logs as detailed here and let me know just in case that also doesn't work.

EDIT: The glove scaling should be corrected again.

  • I had to run the installer for preview 17 twice, the first time it failed but I unfortunately did not a grab a screenshot of the error. I previously had Enscape 3.4.4 installed on windows 10.

My feedback after a first test:

    - For already placed assets, I find it not discoverable how to change the material or swap the subtype. I think it would be far more intuitive that when you only have a single type, it would immediately switch to edit mode. To be honest, I can't see the benefit of the 'edit selection' panel. Is the idea what we will select all assets in an entire area and then click on each one to tweak them? Seems like an odd workflow. I think I would either select a single asset, or a bunch of the same type (rightclick -> select all of type). And perhaps the "selection panel" can only be shown once you have assets of multiple different types selected?

    - I like that 'select all assets of this type' only applies to the assets currently loaded in Enscape. I was concerned it was going to affect assets in other design options/unloaded parts of the model.

    - I don't like that when you have more than one element selected, the selection is reset if we switch from the 'edit selection' panel to the move command for example. Presumably because move/rotate/scale does not support multiple selection?

    - In the "edit selection" panel, there does not seem to be a way to way to see which asset has subtypes. But once you are in the 'edit asset' panel that is very clear. Of course this wouldn't be an issue if you 'edit selection' panel was removed :)

    - Very few assets right now seem to support material adjustments. Instead, the focus seems to have been on asset subtypes. I actually have way more usecases for material modifications on standard assets than I have a need for the subtypes.

    - Are there any assets that have the option to change more than just the color? For example change stone to wood map etc? Would love to test that.

    - Often I will want to palce an asset and immediately change its material. Right now the workflow for that is awkward: we first need to place it, 'apply changes', select it, click on the selection, and only then we can change the material. It would be nice that with changeable material assets, it immediately jumps to edit mode after placing.

    - In both the standalone library and the library inside enscape, the popup only works after clicking on the thumbnail. I liked the previous behavior better.

    - In the library inside the enscape render window, we can see an icon for 'material can be modified' after clicking on the thumbnail, but in the standalone library that icon is missing.

    - I like that when we copy an asset with modified material, the modification is maintained. What isn't great is that there's no way to see whether any materials have been overridden on the 'edit selection' panel. On the 'edit asset' panel it's very clear, even with a nice implementation when you have assets of the same type selected but with different material overrides. Again, I think the 'edit selection' panel is making things harder than it needs to be. Would be better if it jumped immediately to 'edit asset' panel until you select multiple different types of assets.
