I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to create the effect seen in the attached photo of this lamp. I have a project coming up where I will need to create various lights with this effect, but yet to find a solution to get it. It also needs to be placed within an environment for product placement shots, so might change the solutions. Any ideas or thought would be amazing 
It's the ability to make it look as natural as possible.
You can make the material foliage and add light objects so it will create the gradient you are looking for.
An example from me. (the lights not perfectly placed, but you catch the idea.)

So did you place a sphere light inside the tube of the light to get this effect? This is definitely the effect I'm looking for. I found a workaround which was creating material (as per below) and then making it emissive. It's not perfect, but had a similar effect, but would like to use your technique as looks much better.
Yes I did put the light in the centre of the tube.
