Welcome to our Forum!
An official full Mac version of Enscape will be offered for purchase in the near future - At the moment we still also offer an Open Beta of Enscape for Mac which you can acquire for SketchUp 2021 here:
https://enscape3d.com/enscape-for-mac/#/
Give it a try if you haven't already and feel free to share any further feedback with us.

Hi Demian, we have the Windows version for one year /freshly renewed/ is there some kind of "crossplatform" license, or do we have to buy another license for Mac...we don't plan to use Windows license any more /after the official Mac version will be released/...

As much as I wish I could use the existing license for Mac version, it seems like Enscape will be selling a separate Mac license to the existing Windows users. You will most likely have to purchase another license to use Enscape on Mac.
I wonder if Enscape at least will offer an option to switch an existing Windows license to a Mac license.

Incorrect. I expect the same license will work for Windows and OSX.

Hope I'm wrong and completely off base here.

Our office has several floating licenses for Enscape, obviously for Windows and used mostly with Revit (windows only) and SketchUp. The SketchUp license is cross-platform, so I am able to use that at home on my M1 iMac.
If the Enscape license is not cross-platform, then there is no reason for me to ask my company to pay for an extra Mac license. I would simply use Remote Desktop Connection through a VPN and remote control my office workstation instead.
Given the Chaos/Enscape merger, I would expect Phil's suggestion that it be cross-platform to be more aligned with their stated goal of being the premiere rendering solution for any platform.
Some clarification on this policy would be most welcome. Damian's response (so far) only mentions that a new Mac license is available, which is fine as long as you're only looking for that platform.
Thanks in advance,

Please use your Enscape license with both Windows and OSX. You'll answer your question. Nothing to do with merger.

So, a floating licence can be used to install on a Mac and a Windows platform. I guess it just looks at the key/serial number and not the OS?
-
Yes.

This is correct, Marjolein_Pas.
Our software is platform-agnostic and it was decided to not have distinct versions or prices for that matter for any operating system or CAD host application, disregarding potential differences in development and maintenance effort, so that we can provide a price model that is fair and easy to follow for all users.
