Material property loss & Crashes

  • I am currently working on a large residential project and have hade lots of issues around the use of Enscape materials. I download them well enough and they are saved in a suitable location but between saving a project file, closing and then reopening the next day, the height/bump texture becomes invalid. This is now happening so much, I have stopped using Enscape's materials all together and am using third party 'paid for' materials.

Not ideal when you have to repair a dozen materials every single day!

Secondly, I am running the latest version and have all GPU drivers up to date (I use a 16GB RTX card) but Enscape is crashing when I try to open the project. Yes it is big (190MB) but I frequently use Enscape with project folders much larger. Yes, it has lots of Enscape Assets but again, I frequently use them. When I 'close and send feedback', all I get is 'are you running the latest version' or 'are your drivers updated?'...Well, yes they are but I am almost at a point where using Enscape is becoming unreliable and may need to revert back to alternative solutions (which I most certainly do not want to do)

  • I am sorry to hear about these problems RB_Design - Allow us to investigate the first issue accordingly. In order to reproduce this on our machines too, can you also let me know where those height/bump textures are stored exactly? (Network drive etc.) Does this occur with any projects, or is it specific to this oneyou're currently using?

Alongside, please also kindly submit a report again manually as we have not gotten one yet it seems. Receiving one with your log files will be mandatory to find out the exact cause behind your crashing. 190MB in terms of project size should of course also not be a problem, but we'll be able to tell you more once we've received said report.

Tecture files are stored locally on the machine running Enscape and do not touch any form of network. It is something that has happened on five seperate model projects but all now have third party textures applied so I will need to attempt to replicate the issue in order to submit a manual error report.

Even without replicating the issue, a report with your log files should still already be helpful as it includes all generated log files from the past too - Which we can analyze for any errors that may help us with troubleshooting these issues. Thank you again in advance.

  • Ok, so today i may have discovered a possible reason for my recent crashes. I have noticed that when opening Enscape, and the SketchUp model is panned out to see my full model, I get frequent crashes. This asks me to close Enscape, look for display drivers etc. but when I am zoomed in (up close to a wall for instance), it opens perfectly fine.

Unsure if this is a 'thing' or just me! lol
