I think the closest your going to get is the Foliage controls. It give the material a faux 2-sided effect.

Can you elaborate your request? I'm not sure I understand it yet. Enscape does render both front & backside faces in Sketchup, even with different materials.

Right now the closest option is the Foliage material type, which is good, but doesn't work in all situations.

Isn't the foliage effect limited to sun light only? It could be great, if a full 2sided effect could be possible.

The foliage effect is also visible with artificial lights (at least in the Preview, I'm not 100% sure if already in release).

So I have a solar panel object, which I'm pretty sure the designer modeled as a single face. From an aerial view it renders fine, but from below looking up it renders black. So I'll try the foliage option and see how that works. Thanks.

Wow...that was a few years back. When you say expensive are you saying that it takes a long time to render?
