There seems to a number of items removed from the library picker in recent versions. I was looking for a specific plant ("Thuja" small upright evergreen thuja occidentalis) that I KNOW I've used before but couldn't find it anywhere in the library. I then went back to an older model and found it, copied it in a it loads and renders fine. Is there a reason some perfectly usable items are no longer in the current Enscape asset library?

what happened to Enscape assets no longer in the library?

I'm just guessing but It could be that they lost the licence to provide the asset in the library but are allowed to maintain its presence on the server so that older projects don't experience dirty great holes if they're opened sometime later.

Good guess, and if true a very reasonable solution to a real challenge.

Conjecture is entertaining and all but I'd really like to hear from Enscape - especially whether this is expected behavior going forward or something that they can rectify.

Hi andybot , it can indeed occur that we sometimes, even just temporarily, remove specific Assets to rework which will then be added later on again.
In this case the specific Asset you mentioned is currently "hidden" behind the our deprecated status. After this and some other models have been updated they'll be re-added again.
I can understand if this isn't always ideal even if the Asset will still be present in the previous project so if there is any other feedback you wish to share regarding this let me know.

Thanks for explaining the status, I appreciate it. I was concerned there were some models getting permanently removed but if they're just getting some spa treatment then no worries!

I'm curious, what's the reasoning behind retiring the assets while they are being reworked? Wouldn't it make more sense to only retire them once the new versions are released?

I have to add that in this case some Assets were "retired" by mistake and thus re-added again - Usually even though we may rework some Assets we're not happy with they shouldn't be gone entirely in the future. I'll make sure your feedback is being heard anyway just in case, thank you Pieter.
