    Code
When will the archicad version be released?

I'm afraid at least currently there is no concrete ETA regarding when we'll add ArchiCAD compatibility for Enscape for Mac - Feel free to make your voice heard though via our portal and forward your request accordingly so we can track the further demand for this or sign up to our mailing list to receive any news right away.

  • Hi,

I am relatively new to SketchUp and Enscape. I downloaded and tried out the SketchUp Plug In on my mac last night and was very much enjoying it. Then at some point late last night it stopped working. Now when I select the "Start Enscape" button in the SketchUp Extensions tab nothing happens. For what it is worth, last night before I shut everything down and started all the applications again (and restarting Mac) when I opened the Enscape window it showed what looked like an empty desert which I could look around BUT the model I was working on in Sketch Up was not showing up even after waiting several minutes. Now, the application just doesn't even open up/ bring up Enscape window or tool bar??

One other thing maybe of import is that in between it working an not working I also installed the "Profile Builder 3" extension??

    Any help much appreciated.

    Oh ....

    Is this new ?

Also no plans anymore to offer Vectorworks on ARM Mac ?

I've adjusted my previous post, please pardon the confusion. There are plans to support Archicad, Vectorworks, and Rhino in the future, but an ETA for each is not something we can share yet.

I'm sorry to hear that Liam.

Whenever you experience any Enscape for Mac issues specifically like that, get in touch via our Help center as detailed here (second part) as that will allow you to reach one of our Mac specialists directly. Also, you can of course try to temporarily uninstall/disable that extension to see if it makes a difference? There have been cases before where a plugin blocked access to Enscape or vice versa, so I appreciate you checking it out.

Thank you very much in advance.

  • Demian,

Thank you so much for your prompt replay. Weirdly, I got a message from my system saying I had an update for my MacOS system software (to Ventura 13.3.1). I did this and now the extension is working beautifully!!! Issue was not with any of the extensions I have ruuning.

That's great to hear, I appreciate the update!

  • Hello Ryan,

If you are talking about video export: the UI part of the video editor was not in place yet when Mac version was released. It will be included in the next Enscape for Mac release version with the full* feature parity for Windows and Mac versions.

If you are talking about exe exports, things are a bit more involved. On Windows we also have issues with unsigned binary exports when Windows complains and requires additional clicks to allow execution. MacOS is much more strict in this and will not allow execution of such a standalone at all unless user goes into system settings and explicitly adds it to exceptions. We evaluate different approaches how to workaround this problem and there is no final decision yet.

  • Thanks for the info Alexander.

I've been using Enscape on a PC since it's inception, but joined a new firm that uses MacBook Pro / M1 Max / 64GB machines. I am glad to hear this is being resolved as producing project animations via Enscape has been part of my workflow for some time. To be honest...if I could go back to a PC I would. Between SketchUp Pro and Enscape Mac versions...it's been a headache and I've experienced more software instability and crashes than ever...on fully loaded out Apple gear. But again, appreciate the update!

  • Hello Damien

I check very well the details of the best requirements for escape running very well on Mac M2 32gb, install it on my Mac....and crashing all the times, no open the software, close and open again but doesn't work.

How I can solve this problem?

especially coz I pay the license specifically for this service.

    Thanks

I'm curious why there's an asterisk after full* feature parity. Is there something that's not going to be on par?

Because some features require hardware not available on Mac - everything related to hardware accelerated ray tracing. E.g. ray traced sun shadows, colored sun shadows, higher quality indirect illumination and reflections.

I just installed SketchUp 2023 (no plugins, clan install) and reinstalled Enscape for SketchUp 2023 and now Enscape crashes EVERY time I open SketchUp 2023. I don't even have a chance to open Enscape, as it crashes immediately upon opening! Is it sad that this is what I expect from Enscape at this point?

Please have a look at this post: Enscape for Mac NOT working with SketchUp (Service Pack) 2023.1

Sketchup has moved to a different UI framework with 2023.1 release which has conflicted with ours. Our next release soon will fix this issue.
