Does Enscape only render materials that use "Image" rather than one of the other options like tile? Is this also the case for adding bump to these materials?

Indeed, Enscape is not able to display generic textures, which are provided by Revits material editor. This is true for bump maps, as well.
One way to work around this, if you're using these generic textures to create patterns, would be to simply screenshot the created texture and use it as an image.Although we understand this is no perfectly convenient solution, would this be a workaround you can use? Anyways, I'll file your question as a feature request for our developers.

Kaj,
I've noticed in the transparency channel for Revit materials, Enscape is not rendering it correctly as shown in Revit renders. In our interiors department they use a lot of pattern glass type materials and we can't get it to render correctly. Is this a bug or known issue, or is there a better way to render this in Enscape?
By the way I love the 3d people, very nice!
Thanks,
Duggy

Hello Duggy,
please excuse my late response.
Indeed, Enscape currently is not able to display transparency maps, which will result in an image like you've shared it.
I have filed your post as feature request for the developers to be informed on the demand for this feature.
It's difficult to think of a proper workaround for this - you could probably reach an adequate result by duplicating the surface and apply a cutout texture. -
Ok, thanks for the heads up! Here's the work around for now.
Create a new wall type for glass (instead of curtainwall) and then we used the paint tool to paint the backside of the "glass" with the cutout material...looks pretty good just a few extra steps.
Thanks Kaj, hope you guys can sort this out in future updates, pumped we could get it to work for now.

I've also tried to do this using the cutouts in Revit to achieve this, but get the same opaque look as Duggy has shown above.

Hello dobrodrummer,
I have forwarded both of your questions as feature requests. Every feature request is being discussed with the developers, and they are being developed depending on what priority they receive. The priority is being determined - among others - by the number of requests we receive for this feature.
We'll definitely be glad to support this functionality as soon as possible! -
should the cutout materials work now?
thanks

Hello perdueterrance , thank you for your message!
Enscape should definitely recognize texture alignments in Revit. I also think this is the case in your picture, it's just the difference in perspective that might confuse the eye here.
If you have a look at the two pillars - they're exactly within the second square in both pictures, aren't they? It's just that the Revit view is an orthographic one, a "parallel view" while the Enscape view has depth, it's a "perspective view".
Please let me know in case this doesn't resolve your problem.
*edit* excuse me, now I see what you're meaning - the lines on your 'step' there aren't aligned, indeed. Could you tell me what Enscape version you are using? You can see that in the [About] window. Thank you!

I am using Enscape version 1.9.6.0

Thank you for the information. I have discussed your case with the developers. They'd love to have a look at this behavior!
Is there a chance you could share this project with us for further analysis? Or, alternatively, a small test project in which you can reproduce the behavior?
This would be a huge help in resolving this issue as soon as possible!
Please let me know in case there's any questions.

Is there a way for the materials to follow specific curvatures? For example, I want to render a curved brick pavement's running bond aligned to the pavement's curve. Is that possible, or this is still just a future update?

perdueterrance we believe to have fixed the behavior you've told us about. Would there be a chance you could send us that project, or a sample project in which you can reproduce the behavior, so we could make sure it resolves the problem for you?

Any info on plans for enabling Revit's generic textures in Enscape? tnx

Procedural textures are still not supported, and right now they are not really high on our list. One reason of course is, that it's simple to work around the limitation.

Is the "simple work around" creating a tiled material in Revit and taking a screenshot to use as an image? Because the quality of the image in the revit material window is very poor/blurry and not suitable for a rendering texture. Is there a way to obtain a higher quality image of the tile texture? See attached for original image and Revit material image.

I up vote the request for Revit procedural texture support. Procedural Texture generation in Revit is growing in capability and use, and is in many cases quicker to create and can bypass the need for an image map (noise, tiles, stripes). ?

All the discussion had solved my doubt.
