Enscape Service Pack 3.5.3

Please cast your votes in our two ongoing feedback polls here and here!
  • Dear Forum Community,

We've just released our latest Enscape Service Pack 3.5.3!

    NEW:

    V-Ray Scene Export (Beta)

You can now export your views to V-Ray scenes via a new button in the Renderer toolbar. The feature is work in progress and has some limitations. To illustrate the current state, here's an example of a view rendered with Enscape and V-Ray, respectively.

    Enscape:

    V-Ray:

    Color in Ray-Traced Sun Shadows
When Ray-Traced Sun Shadows are enabled, semi-transparent geometry is now casting shadows with the opacity and tint color contributing to the appearance of the shadow.

Feel free to check out this post here for a quick how to as well.

    NVIDIA Shadow Denoiser

This new feature is available when Ray-Traced Sun Shadows are enabled and reduces noise in the edges of the sun shadows during movement. The feature is disabled by default and can be enabled in the General Settings window.

    New Asset Package

    • 29 People Assets for usage in Hospital / Laboratory environment
    • 59 Hospital Props are now adjustable
    • 24 New Vegetation items (Previously part of a marketing asset package)

    BUGFIXES:

    • Frame stutters during camera movement (with hardware ray-tracing enabled)
    • High CPU usage in VR with highly tessellated geometry
    • Image in VR too bright (gamma correction)
    • Movement with Valve Index VR controllers requires joystick press
    • Incorrect shadows of billboard (face-me) geometry with cut-out texture with enabled ray-traced sun shadows
    • SpaceMouse QuickZoom
    • Archicad: Missing Texture Files No Longer Leads to Interrupting Batch Rendering
    • Vectorworks: Missing Texture Files No Longer Leads to Interrupting Batch Rendering

    KNOWN ISSUES:

Revit – Error on Exe Standalone Export

When using Revit, the standalone export feature will not be available. It will always fail with a message box “One or more problems occurred”. You can work around this defect by rolling back to Enscape 3.5.2 or prior versions

To see what has been added with release 3.5 itself please check out this thread here instead.

  • 2dartistuz , could you kindly send me the file you've tried to import as a skybox?

Also, could you perhaps briefly elaborate once more or rephrase what exactly the issue is here? If I get it right you're trying to import a .HDR file but it does not get added and instead the "Screenshot_1.jpg" file remains instead? Or are you perhaps instead trying to look around in Enscape and the skybox remains static?

Thank you once more in advance for any further clarification. Meanwhile as it cannot hurt, please also briefly submit a feedback report as detailed here in case we want to check out your log files for errors or such, and make sure to include a link to this post in the submission form so my colleagues are aware why said report has been submitted.

  • Hello Matias Baumann , and a warm welcome to our Forum!

I am sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue at the moment, would you kindly let me know if it helps to access the Material Editor via the context menu instead:

If that makes no difference, could you also let me know what exactly the problem is? I reckon you are clicking on it and there's simply no further window/dialogue opening what so ever?

Should that be the case you can also try to fully re-install Enscape once (uninstall any existing version and use our latest installer afterward), and if that also doesn't help we'll need a dedicated feedback report (including logs) submitted by you as detailed here.

Thank you very much in advance for your cooperation!

  • Colored shadows don't seem to be working for me, at least not out-of-the-box. Do I need to tick some other options apart from the "Ray-Traced Sun Shadows", in the material settings, for ex?

    Win 11 / SketchUp 2023 / RTX3060

  • To me too ?(

Could you perhaps then go into further detail a bit as per my previous response to this behavior? At the moment I cannot reproduce any issues with the material editor and 3.5.3, so I'll have to ask:

Thank you for your assistance happymilk , and feel free to also try the full re-install, I'm not sure if it helped Matias Baumann as he did not report back so far, so once more thanks for your cooperation.

Please check out this post of mine here, you'll have to simply make use of transparency tint instead of using albedo (for now):

    RE: Enscape 3.5.3 Preview 1

Let me know in case that doesn't do the trick!

  • Hello Demian Gutberlet, sorry for not replying sooner.

I was on a tight deadline to deliver some renders.

I reinstalled the new version and now it seems to be working fine.

    Thanks for your attention!

  • No worries of course at all, and thank you for that positive update!

  • New Asset Package

    • 29 People Assets for usage in Hospital / Laboratory environment
    • 59 Hospital Props are now adjustable
    • 24 New Vegetation items (Previously part of a marketing asset package)

Are these assets available to older versions? I thought generally in the past we did not need to update Enscape to see the new assets. The lab people would be useful, but we are holding on updating to 3.5.x until some of the issues have been resolved.

  • To be honest, Enscape is a great program for fast rendering. It would be great if they added weather conditions, snow and rain, as well as several animated 3D models similar to those in D5, Lumion and Twinmotion. Unfortunately, at the moment these functions are missing in Escape, and this is really sad. We can only hope that the developers will take such suggestions into account in the future and improve the program even more.

Agree! Enscape does seem to be getting a little left behind in some areas and new features have been few and far between of late. I still prefer Enscape's ease of use.
