2.4 Installation problem

  • Hi,

Trying to install version 2.4 into Sketchup Pro 2018. The installation runs fine, no errors, but upon opening Sketchup, no version of Enscape is installed anywhere. Its not showing up in toolbars or extension manager.

I would install manually via the extension manager but I can't find and .rbz file anywhere in the install files.

Any thoughts? I had no issues installing the previous 2.3 version. I can also install an old version (2.0) off the extension warehouse, but thats no use to me (no option to update within the extension manager)

    Thanks

Hi BarryFishFinger , thank you for your post. :)

I'm sorry to hear about that. Would you please be so very kind as to completely uninstall Enscape first and run our 2.4 installer again afterward, if you haven't tried that already? Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Demian, thanks for the reply.

I have uninstalled it completely and run a fresh installation of 2.4 - same problem, Enscape never shows up anywhere in Sketchup. I've also tried re-downloading the file in case it was corrupt or something.

I've also tried installing Enscape to a different location. The default location on the installer is here: C:\Users\My.Name\AppData\Local\Enscape so to see if it made a difference I've tried installing to the default Sketchup plugins folder here: C:\Users\My.Name\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2018\SketchUp\Plugins

Starting Sketchup with Enscape installed in this plugins folder throws up the following error:

Could not load Enscape. Make sure you have Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable installed. Do you want to download it now?

I've tried downloading and installing the redistributable and I already have the latest version running.

Hoping for a swift resolution here, the evaluation version of 2.3 installed and ran fine, I've bought a license for 2.4 and its a bit frustrating that I can't even get it to install.

    Thanks

  • Ok, I think I have resolved the issue. Not entirely sure how, but I did the following:

Installed Enscape to the Sketchup plugins location: C:\Users\My.Name\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2018\SketchUp\Plugins

Then within the install files, navigated to the Installer folder > Output then ran the Create-Plugin-Metadata_NoAdmin.exe file, installed just the Sketchup one to the same plugins folder. Started Sketchup, the Enscape splash screen loads straight up and let me license it.

    So fingers crossed.

Hi I am trying to install enscape 2.7 for sketchup 2019, I can see the extension in the sketchup extension manager but i cant install the extension.

Could you please uninstall Enscape and re-install it once more this time for "all users"? You can select this option by just running our installer and then -> briefly accept the License Agreement -> Next -> Advanced ->

That should already resolve the issue at hand - let me know in case it does not please.

  • Hi! I just download from the website the last version of Enscape and I have the same problem of the guys above, when I download the installator, when I put install looks like everything goes fine but when it finish, and I press the botton finished, nothing happen, and I start run Sketchuo 2020 and there's any plug added. I tried uninstall and install again, and pressing the advanced installation mode button, select Install for all owners of the machine and then, when it finish nothing changed, nothing apper and theres no available to use it in SketchUp.

  • Hi, I have the same problem with the student licence installer. When I run the .msi file provided by the free trial programme, I just click finish and nothing happens. I can't locate my file anywhere during installation it just goes to Downloads and can't manage any options. I need to resolve this problem asap please.

Welcome to our Forum - Right away, which CAD solution(s) are you trying to use with Enscape?

Please also make sure that you are trying to use a version we support:

    • Revit (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023)*
    • SketchUp (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023)
    • Rhino (6.0 and 7.0)
    • Archicad (22, 23, 24, 25, and 26)
    • Vectorworks (2020 (Service Pack 3), 2021, 2022, 2023 (Service Pack 1 or later))

If your program is listed but you still cannot find/use Enscape, kindly let me know what exactly you are using currently. For example, SketchUp 2022 or Revit 2022 or such?

And just last but not least in case you haven't tried that before and your CAD solution is supported, also make sure to install Enscape for "all users" on your machine as detailed here:

    Thanks a lot in advance.

  • I am using Sketchup 2021 and Revit 2021. Thank you I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the program multiple times.

  • What is the best location to save it under? I have managed to change location but should I list it under Sketchup 2021 folder or leave it under new folder Enscape like this: C:\Program Files\Enscape\

That folder location usually is fine - I reckon you were able to at least find Enscape inside of SketchUp/Revit now judging by the other post of yours? Regarding the crash itself, please check my reply in the other thread itself.

I wanted to download the enscape update, but I get the notification that I have to verify access to a png file (enscape material library).

see attached. what do I have to do?

I'm sorry to hear about that. Right away, please try uninstalling any version of Enscape still currently present on your machine and then re-install our latest release, this time also for "all users" on that machine:

If that makes no difference, please let me know.
