wish: infinite ground plane

I have seen this thread and I ask me, could the best solution not be an infinite ground plane feature. Maybe the functionality could be added by a keyword. (OK, the repeating pattern of the waves could be more visible on the long distance in the background, but I hope this can be fixed.)
