    We're glad to announce that that Enscape for Mac 4.0 has now been released!

    Our latest version was developed to create a unified experience across platforms. macOS users can now work with the ease and speed of a complete design and visualization workflow, just like their Windows counterparts.


    This new version signifies the foundation for the future. It unveils an overhauled codebase with improved infrastructure and technical foundation to increase stability and performance. It strengthens the interoperability between products within the Chaos ecosystem and enables us to develop both operating systems in unison.

    NEW:


    Vegetation and people assets

    We added 32 people assets as well as 178 vegetation assets with focus on Mexico and desert plants.


    Rhino 8 Support

    Enscape now supports Rhino 8 SR3 or later.


    Vectorworks – Adjustable Geometry Export

    Users can now select the quality of geometry export in the Enscape toolbar.


    Site Context

    Users can now import the context in which a building is to be placed and visualize the impact it will have on its surroundings and visa-versa.


    Renderer Asset Library

    Users can now access the Enscape Asset Library via the Enscape viewport user interface (UI) toolbar. They can place assets directly into the Enscape viewport and import them into their CAD project once they are satisfied with their rendering.


    Introduced “Ongoing Asset Placement” Dialog

    Users can now see the document in which assets can be placed while placing them from the Asset Library.


    Custom Asset Library

    Users can now build their own Custom Asset Library using the Custom Asset Editor application. The created assets can be imported via the added Custom Asset tab in the Enscape Asset Libraries.


    BIM Information Panel

    Archicad users can review and browse BIM data specified in their project.


    Collaborative Annotation Mode

    Use this tool to efficiently collaborate with others and share notes about concrete elements of your project. The Collaboration tool can be used with locally stored projects or in conjunction with Newforma Konekt projects (which is a web-based issue tracking platform for BIM coordination).


    Notification Window for New Releases

    Enable this feature through the Enscape General Setting window and stay tuned for the latest updates and new releases.

    The existing Feedback window has become the Support window.


    Texture Editor UI Updates

    Albedo texture transformation is always explicit, while all other texture slots could use, either explicit texture transformation, or the values assigned to the Albedo texture transformation.


    BUGFIXES:


    Web Standalone – Arrow Keys Work Again in Walk Mode on Google Chrome


    Video Editor – Set Fixed Timestamp for Final Keyframe


    Material Transparency/Mask Texture Handling

    If the transparency/mask texture has an alpha channel, it is always used and a warning is shown in case it is all white.


    Changing the Active Document No Longer Affects On-Going Video or Panorama Renderings


    KNOWN ISSUES:


    Rhino 8 – Enscape Freezes when Switching Views

    Fixed in Rhino 8 SR5.

  • I have installed the latest Mac version 4.0.0.577, but I am unable to load the rendering window of Enscape. I have tried su2022 and su2023, but they still cannot be used and remain stuck in the loading interface. This is a fatal flaw, and I hope it can be fixed as soon as possible!

    My computer is MacBook Pro m3 max, and the system version is 14.2.1

    In this case please make sure to also forward a feedback report as detailed here right away so that our Mac specialists can have a closer look into this for further troubleshooting. Submitting said report will also transfer all of your machine information, driver dates and potentially necessary log files.

    Please simply press the following Support (previously Feedback) button in your Enscape ribbon:


    This will allow you to submit a report, which also includes your log files, machine information and so forth.


    Beforehand you just have to briefly fill out the dialogue at hand:


    This should of course all be in Chinese for you for better understanding.


    I'll also forward your request to offer our website in Chinese, this should be something we plan to implement eventually as well, though there is no release date I can mention yet I'm afraid.

  • This latest release keeps quitting. I wouldn't say it crashes because it doesn't affect SketchUp, but it just quits all the time. And you can't seem to minimize it without it quitting on you about half or more of the time.


    Also, I'm not sure why you're advertising Windows parity when that's just not the case. Perhaps you can share more Enscape feels it's on par with Windows when it's not?

    Sure 4.0 has video editor and export included. Please have a look at the toolbar in the Enscape window:

  • This happens a lot with this new release. Enscape will crash, so I'll have to quit SketchUp, but Enscape will hang up the entire system so I have to restart. You can see in the screenshot below that no SketchUp is running but there's a rogue Enscape window left hanging and there's no way to quit Enscape without restarting my entire machine.

  • This also happens a lot. Logs and report sent via app.


    I'm having this exact same issue. I've tried legacy versions of Enscape, both skp 2023 and 2024 with no luck at all. Upon starting Enscape, a window appears as per usual, then very quickly vanishes and shows this exact message. What's going on?

    Welcome to our Forum.


    In the first instance, if you haven't yet, please also try a re-install making sure that you're also re-installing Enscape using our latest hotfix version of our installer (

    4.0.0.581) which came out April 8th found here.


    If you've tried that already without any success, then kindly submit a support report as well as detailed here instead.


    Generally whenever you experience any issues with Enscape this is usually the quickest method to receive support, as this also allows us to check out all the attached machine information and log files for troubleshooting which get submitted alongside as well.
