hello,
i'm trying to make a led light underneath furniture using a line light. I made it 3m long, it is not abstructed by any other objects but i don't get the expected light.
I'm using v2.4.1.913
It just seems to create a spot light.

Moving the light in front of the furniture seems to solve my problem, good enough for me. But would like to know why it does this...
Hey xxl , thanks a lot for your submission.
To allow me to faithfully reproduce this problem:
Thanks a lot in advance.
hi,
i'm using sketchup 2018. I'd prefer not to upload my project publicly.

So far, our area lights (non-point) already have the proper light emission profile which can be observed in the specular reflections but the shadows casted from them are treated as if it was a point light source for performance reasons. This might change in future releases with hardware raytracing acceleration.
Im having this problem long time ago, the long lights become spotlights, how can i avoid or fix this?.
Thank you team
