I'm forwarding your upvotes, but be aware, that this is something which we plan to implement anyway, since we know that there is just a lot of demand for this of course.

+1 I'm pretty sure that this feature is highly sought after. Please make it come true!

I know my vote is already added but this is such a major bottleneck in our workflow that I can't help myself but flagging this again
With furniture finishes, we change them ALL the time, sometimes we try out dozens of different fabrics. Currently that's though to do. We use the custom asset workflow but making dozens of different versions of the assets is cumbersome (and it fills up the library and the model quickly). What we need is a way to override the material behavior on assets.
The UI could be like this: we have a dialog that shows up all assets in the project. We can select an asset and it gives us a list of materials on that asset. Now we can select a material and select a project material to override it with.

+1 This is a really important feature that would go a long way for a lot of us trying to speed up the process.

It makes more sense to have Enscape Standalone program which we can test and develop Enscape asset.
That standalone program should be able to:
- open any Enscape assets that have already been created and alter the material color
- import dwg / fbx / skp ....files so that the Enscape asset can have material applied, changed the HSB etc. and viewing the result there (because Enscape is real time!)
- Push the altered assets back to the asset library so other users and immediately see that custom asset and use it in CAD programs

Hi,
this is what we need !!
Thanks,

- If being able to change the material of the assets still needs more time to be implemented, would it be possible to add for the time being different options/alternatives for the finishes of the same asset??
- And are you considering the option of importing a fbx/obj file directly into enscape library?
