I love the new assets added into Enscape.
Since I make a lot of landscaping models I need a way to scatter vegetation elements across an area. Is there any simple way to do this in Revit with the enscape assets?

Both would be nice actually. I am making a lot of mountain/forest scenery. So far I've just copy pasted objects around, but would like a way to scatter both single objects or multiple objects around. See an example scene attached.
Would be nice with a quick way to make dense forests for instance.
(Don't know how practical it is but SU has the Skatter plugin - I'm sure there are import/export workflows that could work)
Hi 3DMake: thanks for clarifying! If you are using Revit or SketchUp, the asset library allows you to scatter single objects pretty swiftly already: when you select an asset from the library you can continuously place that asset without having to reselect it in the library. In Rhino and ArchiCAD this function is not currently available. Are you using Rhino or ArchiCAD? If so, I'll gladly forward a feature request for that function on your behalf.
Additionally, I have created a feature request for the ability to scatter multiple instances of the same object throughout your project. We do indeed support the Skatter plugin for SketchUp generally, but at this time it's not possible to scatter our assets specifically with it.
I've been using the Crowd add-in with Enscape assets. It scatters randomly and will adjust the placed instance elevation to topography, but it does not rotate or scale.
There are also various ways using Dynamo, but I haven't personally been as successful using those, probably because I'm not very good at Dynamo.
Thanks for the tips. I will test the Crowd addin
I am making Dynamo scripts at the moment to place people and cars, will also develope something for trees...

Great job Arno! I've no experience with Dynamo, maybe you can make a screenrec how to implement your script into Revit workflow?

Sound awesome Arno.
I would like to test this if possible, allthough I also do not have much dynamo knowledge. Is it possible to make the scattering based on subregions or some other way to make different zones of scattering?
i was thinking the same way i created the crowed dynamo script...draw a spline and place trees within the spline..
i was also thinking of making a difference between ground cover and trees, so you can setup single or double..
Hi all,
totally agree - scattering is really needed!
Just like Arno I am currently using Dynamo scripts to rotate and scale assets.
Scattering vegetation is a very important for convincing renders
So: +1
That´s cool, thanks!
