Hello, why you did't add a bevel to mark the edge ?
-
I know it's just barely been 2 months, but has there been any update or timeline on this? This is something that Lumion struggles with as well, at least Enscape has the outline mode which is helpful in certain areas. We have a lot of components in 2D model lines such as basketball courts, tracks etc.
-
We're also really hoping for this as well (as Revit users). Just to be sure: we would want to have this as a separate option with respect to automatically generated outlines: in some views we would have automatically generated outlines off but still want to show model lines (for example: we're rendering a realistic render but didn't model the divisions of the ceiling pattern but used model lines instead). Or sometimes we would want to have outlines but no model lines (for example: we have some model lines in the model that are for construction purposes only, not for rendering, but we still want to see 'normal' outlines).
Let me know if the dev team needs more input on this.
This issue comes up a few times each week.

I'm rooting for renderable lines as well - we use this a lot for stone coursing, paving etc.
Could even be triggered by the entity name in SketchUp like material names trigger shaders. -

A hack I have used for Lumion is the pipe tool. Just pipe all of your lines for them to show up. Thea has an excellent feature that places your rendering inside the SU window and multiplies on top of your SU model, so you could turn on a hidden line view and then turn on Thea on top and you will see all of your lines.
I really wish all render engines would recognize the value of placing the render inside of the SU window. V-Ray 3.6 has just got on board with this as well.

Hey Jonathan,
any chance we can get this as a ticket in Trello so we can upvote and gather support?

Thanks Jonathan for adding this on the trello board.

I was wondering if any progress has been made on this request? It's been a year since it was stated that it is on the agenda. It just would be nice to have this feature sooner than later as a lot of people use model lines, especially for schools and gym lines. Is this something that we can expect in the next couple of months? or are we still talking years away (just so that we can plan around it)
Thanks

No Progress so far and not forgotten as well. Unfortunately we don't have unlimited developing resources, so we have to prioritize.
