enscape on the quest would be a game changer for my firm. It would allow me to get contractors involved in vr. All I need is a white model on the quest

It's not yet possible to view our standalone exports in the Oculus Quest, yet.
Support for the Quest is definitely on our agenda, so I do add your upvote to the feature request!
+1 for upvoting. Have you tested it with ALVR streaming from PC?

Added your vote! We have not tried that yet, thanks a lot for the recommendation, I'll definitely check it out to see how well/if it works with Enscape already.

No problem. Will try it out myself in the comming weeks!

For what it is worth, I can report that the Oculus Rift S works fine with Enscape 2.5. (After an update of the Oculus Software & Driver) The only caveat is that you do need a slightly more power full GPU to run it. I tried it on GTX 1080 (OKish) and RTX 2080 (fine). I haven't had time and opportunity to test it on other hardware configurations.

Have you tested HTC vive Pro eye?
-
Epix 3D As far as I know we don't have an HTC Vive Pro Eye in the office yet. Now, there is no good reason why it should not work work with Enscape; but the devil is in the detail. From the specs it looks like an HTC Vivie Pro and for a start it will just work like that. The eye tracking and the associated foveated rendering is something we are considering to implement.

Just tested ALVR on Oculus Quest and it worked almost flawlessly, albeit with a little latency.. So cool to walk around with no wire

I did HTC vive and its fine but lack of power due to to my 1070
-
O.K I guess the eye version will work with my 1080 same as Vive Pro until eye tracking is supported by Enscape.

tobiasolsen Can you confirm something for me?
Does your Oculus Quest (with native Quest apps) also have some tracking lag of approximately 100ms? I have seen "wobbly stars" with the Oculus Rift S and am not sure if my setup is broken or it's just the nature of inside out tracking. And since the Quest and Rift S share the same basic tracking technology...
Also I am interested in how bad would you describe the ALVR lag?

Tracking on the Quest is pretty flawless. Better the OG Rift imo, no lag what so ever. Using ALVR to stream from PC to Oculus Quest introduces 50-70ms lag/latency

tobiasolsen You know what, your ALVR setup is better than my under-powered GTX1080 with a cable.

So the reports here on the Quest are very interesting..........
I'm owning now a HTC Vive Pro. Can I compare the Vive with the Quest in performance? The portability of the Quest is even more attractive than the setup of the Vive.
How does the Quest work with the Enscape projects? What is the workaround?
Tnx!

Sounds like something is off with your Rift S then, because there is definitely more lag than our OG Rift setup. Have you tried to disable USB power saving? https://www.reddit.com/r/oculu…racking_and_other_issues/

Yup its a super interesting proposition, but not ready for primetime yet, remember this is early beta.
First of all you have to turn on developer mode on Quest, next you have to sideload the app, using Command prompt. Lastly, you need to install steamVR, Revive and ALVR app on your desktop. As I said, it runs well, tracking and visuals are pretty great, but latency is not the best yet. Controllers dosnt map perfectly yet. Hope this answers your question?

tobiasolsen No, it's the "weak" GPU on my workstation, it just can't submit the images sufficiently quick. I could trace it with the help of the Oculus dev tools. Normal apps work OKish, but Enscape is just to complex (on Ultra).
The good news is, I will leave it this state, since I was finally able to reproduce, without purposefully breaking things, a number of low frame-rate VR deficiencies. This gives me the opportunity to make things better when models start to get to complex. Yes, I know it's weird that I am happy that things are not running smoothly on my machine; Software Engineer...

Arh ok! I never run ultra settings on VR for the same reasons, normally i lower it to medium. That said, GPU (power) does not really impact the streaming using ALVR. Comparable settings should look the same on Rift S/Quest (using ALVR), just with a little bit more latency on Quest.

If I have forgotten any major headsets to look out for in 2019 please add it below! Thanks everyone!
<-- we need a HMD emoji!!!
Is this possible???? - we use Enscape daily at our company and would buy more licenses if steam was NOT forced upon our IT team. And we could use the Reverb freely

CampCots Unfortunately when using Windows Mixed Reality, you still need Steam. The reason is that we setup on OpenVR for Vive and all Microsoft Mixed Reality devices. Using Steam is the only sensible way to get the drivers and management software.
This is kind of a real annoyance for professional VR users, that you need to install game oriented user space driver software. "Let me show you this really serious first responder training, but first I need to launch this gaming platform, oh look Beat Saber is on sale..." I really would like for Valve, Vive, Microsoft, Oculus and & Co. to provide a small "just drivers & management" software, but alas, games are driving this field of innovation.
