When you have Show Safe Frame turned on, shouldn't it always be on, not just when you run a capture? It would be nice to at least have the option to show it while working.

When I check "show safe frame" it never works and the Preview feature before render that would show the safe frame works 50% of the time. I suppose this is a bug?

Thanks VStudio , as asked in the other thread, what would be the advantage of that for you?
Let me know and file this as a feature request to which I'll also add your feedback.
edit: nevermindDidn't realise you can move camera around within the safe frame mode! It's actually a decent solution, so I can work within comfortable aspect ratio during working, and activate safe frame mode to set up the view.
I would think it is the whole point of the function, to have a border/grid/guide of the aspect ratio of the capture visible when you enable the Safe Frame option. Otherwise, it is kinda useless at the moment...
With the current method of 'preview after clicking render', It's as if your digital camera had a different aspect ratio screen than your lens/sensor, and you only find out if you got the composition right after you press the shutter... So many times I think I have the right shot, only to find out after I click render (and see the preview) that some elements are cut off the screen, then having to go back to readjust, and then preview again and again to get it right, instead of just having either a guide or black border that lets me get it right the first time. -

should have been fixed in the latest preview (released yesterday afternoon).

Yeah its still hit or miss. In some case when I launch the viewer I click the "render image" button to get the safe frame to show. But, depending on how enscape is feeling at that moment it won't work and the save file explorer window will pop up to save the render. Still in all cases the Safe frame option in settings doesn't work.
I'm on version 2.5.3.0-gb04ccb2 build 2.5.19204.1337
I see the new preview version is available. I'm a new user to enscape so if i install the new preview version am I able to revert back if its to bugy? -

I'm with VS on this: I would like to have the Safe Frame view toggle the Enscape window's aspect ratio with the tick rather than just adding an extra click when you want to render.
(I know you can navigate in the safe frame, but it's a weird work-flow to click the render button to show the safe frame, then move, then click it again.)

Do we know if the preview update is stable? The frame feature in 2.5.3.0 is broken
