Thank you for your request.
You are referring to a material picker inside the Enscape rendering window?
A potential workaround in your case would be to activate the "Synchronize Views" button in the Enscape toolbar.
That way you could use the "Sample Paint" in the SketchUp window and at the same time have an overview on how your model looks in Enscape as well.
Otherwise, I will also forward your request for a material picker in Enscape window to our developer team as a feature request.
Please don't hesitate to share any further ideas or feedback you may have, as we're always grateful for every piece of insight.

thanks for you reply, reason for having a seperate material picker is, that the sketchup material editor is kinda laggy and cruel when there are too many materials on the one hand, on the other hand i ofen have enscape fullscreen with the settings dialogs in foreground while "editing" ... then i would need to switch back to the host app to use the material picker

There is a feature request to be able to sample materials (and edit them) from the Enscape window.
There is also one to be able to sample a colour to tint a material from the Enscape window (Like the one in SU).
This would be especially useful as there is no way* to edit the "baked in" materials of any Enscape assets used or to colour match other manual assets to the Enscape ones.
(* no simple way without hacking about with background stuff that will effect all other instances in all other models)
