Improved proxy representation

  • I would like an indication of proxy direction and what file is being referenced.

It could be a simplified version similar to your library but not necessary to be even that complex.

Colors or arrows can indicate direction.

Text with the filename or including the file thumbnail could indicate source.

    Thanks!

  • Thank you for your request renderwiz , this has already been asked for in a similar fashion, so I'll gladly add your upvote to the feature request on our agenda, plus your feedback of course. :)

  • if there is any chance to have a point clout kind of preview, that would be nice... maybe we have even an option to set the amout of displayed points and there size... :)

    having wishes is always nice

    win 10 | 3080ti | intel 12900k | 64 gig ram | asus mainboard | ssd 980 pro | valve index | dual asus proart 4k monitor

drawing stuff with vectorworks, modelling stuff with sketchup, rendering inside blender/cinema4d with corona render

& ofc using enscape and lately d5 and also a little ue5 :)

best of all > experiencing stuff in VR with enscape !!

  • One more thing: to keep my models somewhat clean I use the Sketchup Extension Cleanup³. I found that this extension deletes my Enscape proxies (not the Asset library ones, the self imported ones) which is kinda annoying. Could this maybe be solved from your side?

The ability to generally display point clouds in Enscape is on our agenda. I'll add a further upvote to that topic through your voice and I'll also add your specific feedback.

We'll check it out, thanks for the report.

  • I am using fur plugin to populate my model with proxies. Some times I need having a vision of what I am working with as I usually rotate proxies preventing repetition. So I would be more than happy if in proxy creation process, we could have a rendered image (2d) or even an Sketcup raw image of it if possible please. I guess point cloud won't help that much.

Thanks a lot. Be assured that your feedback will of course be forwarded accordingly! :)

  • well - i would opt for whatever "preview" version (2d, box, point clould or whatever) has the lowest impact on performance for sketchup...

since sketchup is very sensible PERFORMANCE IS KING...

you know what i mean... and for what i know, a colored point cloud with density control could give us best performance... maybe with some majot snap point on bottom middle or something the like and wombat it would be perfect!

  • What about low-quality png image per each view placed in a proxy? this way user would have a better understanding of the proxy, its placement, rotation etc...

Forwarded your feedback! :) Thanks a lot.
