Material ID in Blocks and Groups

Is there a way to keep the same material the same color in material ID whether or not they are grouped or blocked?

You can see my example for the shade system above that each surface is a different color.. I want them to be all the same in material ID without having to un-group them or explode them.

Hey Leo4su , if the ceiling has different materials assigned to each tile, then you'll also get a different color output for each separate tile when you output the material ID. Which CAD solution are you using and is the ceiling perhaps just assigned with one material, but you get different material ID colors?

If different materials have been assigned to each ceiling tile, then I'd advice you assign one material to all the tiles together, be it just temporarily, and then re-export the material ID rendering.

Leo4su Do you mean the same material get different material ID colors? Did you use Rhino?

Demian Gutberlet Micha Yes I am using rhino, the tiles/units are all using the same material, but they are either grouped or blocked, so when I render I need all the geometry using the same material to be the same color ID
