texture switching problem

  • Looks like something has been mixed up in texture assignment - if you click on the texture and open the Enscape texture editor, does the Albedo have an orange icon?

I've fixed similar in the past by just adjusting the HSB slightly for that texture (from SU's Materials Tray) or just re-loading it.

  • This has happened to me as well recently. It seems to occur when there is a proxy asset. I was able to get the correct textures to load by re-opening the file or restarting enscape.

Thanks, this worked - but I didn't see and orange icon. I opened the proxy model and slightly adjusted its texture map colors and values, saved restarted Sketchup and Enscape, and that did the trick. But this is a major downfall of this product. How can this be resolved to make me want to keep paying for it?

  • giri-giri , sorry to hear about this issue. I've forwarded this to our developers which basically have not seen such a behavior before - is there any chance for you to faithfully reproduce this behavior, and maybe you could then also send a test-scene where this is occurring? On top of that, please also submit a feedback report as described here. The provided log files could very well give us more hints regarding why this problem is occurring.

Please make sure to include my name, or a link to this thread in the submission form before sending in the report. :)

Furthermore, andybot , the same applies to you - if you could let us know the steps to reproduce this, if possible, and also send in a report with a reference to this thread, then that would be great!

  • Here is the model where this occurred for me most recently (It's happened in other large complex models with linked proxies.) I opened it again to see if it was still happening, and it did. The leaf texture is from the trees in front of the building, It's a linked proxy model, and I think the leaf texture is from a file that is linked from my server. The building texture is position on the buildings, but not stretched in any way.

It would be of great help if you or giri-giri could give us the repro case! As you can see in the previous report no answer followed from the topic starter. We have not seen this problem on our side so far.

Please contact me via PM if you wish to send us the model and the way to reproduce the bug.

  • This issue is cropping up again - in particular with heavy proxy files & lots of materials. Textures in the model are getting switched with textures from user generated proxy file. (Sketchup 2018 with Enscape 2.9 preview 3) (using preview 3 because preview 4 messes up my material color corrections.)

  • Yes I have seen this same problem in V2.7, V2.8 and V2.9.

I think this happens like you have mentioned in a big file " (It's happened in other large complex models with linked proxies.) ", when SketchUp crashes while Enscape is open or it is rendering.

If you re-link the correct map in Enscape material editor it looks like everything is OK for that session but as soon as you save the file & close SketchUp and then re open the project & launch Enscape the same thing happens and you have to re-assign the correct texture.

I hope this gets fix soon.

As mentioned by Alex, it would then be great to receive a repro case (of course only if you haven't already), either from you andybot , or from you ineedlove . You can send me a DM and I'll forward you a dedicated safe upload link through which you could share the project + additional files with us. :)
