Settings management help after upgrading to 2.6

    So what is the method you all use to manage settings? Do I need to save settings for each project and each view? I am having a difficult time figuring out the best way to get the same render for an earlier project once I have changed settings after having worked on intermediate projects. It was quite simple in 2.5 with the presets right at the top. The presets seem not as intuitive in 2.6 how have you all made it work?

    I do it like this: Sketchup Pro 2019 setting


    When the new project is done in Sketchup


    1.) Start the Enscape


    2.) if an old settings still exists but you do not love it: I open "Visual Settings"

    (Presets - Load Presets ---- Load Presets (default) ------ Click to the top, "Default Settings")


    3.) now I make the new settings in "Visual Settings:

    (Rendering, Image, Atmosphere including for example" Skybox "and Capture)


    4.) then save under a name. for example: Sene 1

    (Presets --- Save Presets ---- Save to (default) ---- Scene1)


    5.) sometimes I save several scene with different skybox with different brightnesses of the lights, scene "outlines" or

    or ... etc.


    6.) If I would like to have this setting for another PC. I save under:

    (Presets - Save Presets ---- Save to Filet) ------for example : Scene1


    7.) Attention very important

    Sun and Time can only be saved as scenes in "Enscape. "Creative View".

    But as a sketchup scene does not work with sun and time !!

    if I just would save presets "by default" (so somehow store the presets within the SKP file itself ) I have no idea where they are stored or how to share these.
    So I always decide for the option "save to file" and save these files next to the SKP file.

    Also, assigning presets to SkUp scenes doesn't work automatically - should it :?: - And so I load every single scene preset manually.

    And a last stupid question from me: Does any Enscape window show me which Enscape preset is currently activated?

    I don`t know either, but I do not think it's important because you can put in "Save to Filet" or you can find it in "Load Presets"

    bathroom or kitchen, etc. as a neutral setting in a folder. So I do not have to start all over again

    That would be a wish for version 2.7 or earlier..?

    You always have to reload when you start in "Load Presets" I don`t see any other possibility

    So we proceed quite similar - I note in the SkUp´s scene name itself which preset I have to load here for render,
    something like "Scene13 / sn83° / Ensc_005" (btw: "sn" for me means solar-north ;) because for some reason
    of all things the used solar-north angle doesn´t always get scene-stored correctly within SU)

    Is there a way to use the "per file" settings globally? (like the pull-down we had before in 2.5) Is the only way to use settings between files is to go through the additional steps of saving a settings file and finding it and loading it into a new file?

    Yeah, that's a lot of steps compared to being able to use global settings in 2.5
