Enscape-2.7.0-preview.1+15081 - 3D Connexion mouse

Please cast your votes in our two ongoing feedback polls here and here!
  • Had to roll back because the 3Dconnexion 3D space mouse does not seem to work with the latest preview (tried the latest connexion drivers and re-installing the preview and everything else I could think on.)

    Is working again with Enscape-2.6.1+13260

  • Have tried an older 3Dconexxion driver? I had to go back to version 10.5.15 - 3DxWare64_v10-6-4_r3119 to get a working spacemouse. Still cant get it to navigate sketchup & enscape at the same time during a session, but at least it works with one at a time now. Operates ok when just using sketchup, once enscape is opened it only works in the enscape window.

Thank you for the report Gadget , we'll have to investigate this case. I'll be getting back to you again once we've found a solution.

  • The problem of the latest drivers has been known for some time now, we are stuck at 10.5.15 if we want the right functionality. Since 3dconnexion has released 4 driver upgrades and they all create problems, I think it's time for the Enscape team and 3dconnexion developers to start communicating to solve this problem. And this regardless of how the last preview behaves.

  • With version 10.5.15 it works perfectly, the problem starts with 10.6.xx. Switching from SU to Enscape works, then returning to SU no longer works. I noticed that on the display of the Space pilot pro with 10.5 Trimble Sketchup was read even when you moved to Enscape, from 10.6 passing to Enscape you read Enscape, a pity that then hangs in SU.

  • Thank you for the info, everyone. I have forwarded your input to product management - I can imagine they were already in contact with the manufacturer, if not of course we definitely should do so.

I'll check the state this is in, but 3D Connexion SpaceMouse not being compatible with Enscape for SketchUp 2020 is a serious issue and it has been noted.

  • Solution found for Sketchup 2020:

    - Install sketchup 2020

    -Install the 3DxWare drivers v10-5-15 r2944

-In folders options view hidden or system files.

    -path C: ProgrammData - Sketchup - Sketchup 2019 or earlier - Sketchup.

    - Copy the "Plugins" folder

-Follow the same path on Sketchup 2020 and paste.

    It works !!

  • Great to hear there's at least one way to make it work. We will share the knowledge.

  • Caution !! I tried in a small 2in1 laptop because I'm working with the workstation. I have therefore also not tried Enscape because there is no suitable hardware. I still think that if it worked on Sketchup 2019 there are no problems on 2020.

This is because the problem exists between Enscape and higher driver versions.

  • Just downloaded/installed preview 3 : the 3D mouse still does not work...

... UNTIL I have used the normal mouse to navigate a little bit: Click out of the main Enscape window to change a setting or go to another application, then click back into it again and the 3D mouse is not doing anything. Use the mouse to navigate or look around for a second and go back to the 3D mouse - it works.

I know that it is designed to be used in conjunction with a normal mouse, but I tend to use it solely in Enscape with the same hand.

  • I am using 2.6 with Sketchup 2008 and a Space Mouse. It works fine, but the speed of the space mouse is different in Sketchup and Enscape.

With the same settings, panning and zooming is much faster in Sketchup, while rotating is much faster in Enscape.

It would be much better if they had the same speed, or if at least I could adjust the Space Mouse settings of Sketchup and Enscape separately.
