RTX 5000 not supported?

Please cast your votes in our two ongoing feedback polls here and here!
  • I work on a HP Zbook G6 with the RTX 5000 graphics card.

When I open Sketchup I get the message that hardware acceleration is not supported on this card (although NVIDIA says it does).

when opening a .EXE file that i exported from this sketchup file I get the message below.

Drivers are up to date, I disabled the internal graphics card in the device manager and rebooted the system several times.

What could be the case of this problem?

  • Hey WillemBastiaens , usually if you have an Intel- and NVIDIA GPU in your system, Enscape is able to detect that (more precisely: Windows will tell Enscape reliably)

The fact that it says "unknown GPU vendor" in your case makes me curious. It sounds as if you might be using a Virtual Machine, some sort of Windows Remote Desktop solution (or comparable), or an external GPU connection or something like that?

Does anything come to mind? It sounds as if the graphics card in your system is being simulated in some way..

  • Goodmorning we don't have one in our offices to test, but from what we hear from our users, they usually work fine - however, have a lower performance than the card would have when built in natively. We hear a factor of about 80% of the power compared to a natively built in graphics card.

But of course an external connection CAN be an additional source of complications, so that's why I was asking.

This is actually a VERY big thing for laptop users. Especially with mobile workstations, like Dell Precision. Realistically, you will not get anything above RTX3000 or RTX4000 (as cost becomes completely unreasonable, and you are limited with Quadro), so external video-card, connected via Thunderbolt 3, even with 20% drop of productivity, becomes a really good option.

  • Hallo
