Is there anyway to change north in sketchup without having to rotate the whole model? Is it based on the axis on the model or is it just always on one direction?

Hi,
If you care only about sun direction (not about the exact north) you can also change it manually in project settings. I used it sometimes to change shadows in some scenes for renderings simply change "N" to "S". But I guess solar north tool could more convenient.

Perfect this will do, thanks guys!

So I just tried this solar north plugin and it sort of works. Only after Enscape is launched, then adjusting solar north does Enscape render the changes. If you set solar north before starting Enscape, it renders the original north position. Also standalone exports don't take solar north plugin into account even after setting after launching Enscape.

Jschultz Sorry, I can't reproduce the problems you reported with the solar north. When starting Enscape the north is correctly read and the standalone has it correct. Does it happen with all your models or only with some of them?
For helping you I need to know the exact versions of SketchUp/Enscape you use and a model with that behaviour. Please send it to support@enscape3d.com with a link to this thread. You may also press the feedback button and add a link to this thread.
