In my opinion, it's fine to have both posts available (even if it's a duplicate) - This thread is older and marked as resolved so few people may stumble upon it. Still, if I move it, then the workaround your provided may be lost to them in case they do not also go into the Tips, Tricks & Tutorials section.

It's a bit sad that multiplying shadows (like my tutorial example from 2011) is the only way to get ground shadows in Enscape. Please add a shadow catcher material, pretty please.

I've done so now, I just thought I'd ask before as well before doing so, that is generally what I prefer. No more action from your side required though!

Ideally, the solution would be a render output that includes an alpha channel. Maybe there's a toggle to enable alpha in the output to keep basic renders simple.

How hard is it to implement? you could always ask Chaos how to do it, they have had this for years
