Enscape 2.7 use arrows in preview?

Please cast your votes in our two ongoing feedback polls here and here!
  • I couldn't figure out how to use arrows in Enscape preview after updating to 2.7. Could you please direct me how to?

I'm pretty sure you're referring to the use of arrow keys on your keyboard, right? :) If so, check out our control and input knowledgebase article here:

yes it worked just fine with 2.6 but for some reason it’s not working after 2.7. That’s especially once a view has been saved.

by the way, any chance you plan to remove the view list coming up when render is clicked? Also how do I keep safe frame to stay in preview?

You just want to use the arrow key for navigation, right? If so, then that should work perfectly fine. Can you try to see if any other application shows the same behavior?

Furthermore, I'll forward your request to have the view list removed, or a way to disable it - the safe frame cannot be toggled currently, but that is something which has been requested before quite a few times, adding your upvote to feature request!

  • I don't remember having to do this before, but it appears I have to click the preview in order to use arrows to move the camera around, especially if Sk scene was already saved as two point perspective. Change in 2.7?

Pardon, what are you referring to when you mean "click the preview in order to use arrows" , which preview do you mean? Maybe you can briefly let me know then I can try to reproduce this again - as mentioned in my post above though, it's a bit strange that the arrow keys are not working for you, which they definitely still should. Thank you in advance!

  • I meant Enscape view window by "preview." If I have a SK scene with two point perspective, the Enscape view window won't recognize arrow. I have to click anywhere in the Enscape window to move around Enscape camera first; then I can use arrows.

This is true of what I am about to say.

Pardon if I'm misunderstanding something but, you activate two point perspective in SketchUp, but you want to then use the arrow keys without having to click on the Enscape window again to make it active, so that it can then receive the keyboard information?

Thank you. I always appreciate how the team is very attentive to the forum and any questions users have.

You understand right, but it's all good now that I know how to activate arrow keys with Enscape 2.7.

I am still confused, however, Enscape has yet to have safe frame when 2.7 has all these new updates regarding rendering. Is Safe Frame just not included among the top priorities? Just genuinely curious.
