Enscape freezes at 5% loading...

  • When starting Enscape in Rhino the loading screen (Enscape) freezes at 5%... and does not continue. So Enscape doesn't work...

All other Enscape options in Rhino work, like library, options...

I have already re-installed both programs and re-starting computer multiple times...

Does anyone have a solution for this?

    Thanks.

  • Welcome to our forum, I'm sorry to hear about this issue.

Can you briefly send in a feedback report please as described here? That would be very helpful. :)

  • I cannot send a feedback report because Rhino + Enscape crashes when pushed the start Enscape button...

Sorry to hear that, please double check if your system meets our requirements in the first place and if it does, in order to get behind this issue, could you please manually send us the necessary log files, you'll find them here:

    Enscape main plugin log files:

    C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Enscape\Data\Logs

    Rhino plugin log files:

    C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Temp\Enscape\Logs\EnscapeRhinoPlugin

You can just place all the files that are contained in these folders into a .zip file and send these to us..

  • I have the same problem.

It was working 2 days ago, since yesterday, out of nowhere - its not working anymore, and it freezes the whole computer - can not move the mouse.

i re installed rhino - re installed enscape - updated enscape - 2.7 - also the old one - i also had v ray installed - however again it worked fine until 2 days ago.

    I run windows 10

    rhino -

    Version 6 SR25

    (6.25.20114.5271, 4/23/2020)

and enscape - latest and also the old one.

i will also send the files.

    thank you

    thank you

Judging by the log files this could be a graphics card driver problem. Can you please upgrade your AMD drivers first thing? :) Afterward, since you're still using Enscape 2.6, please also update to our latest release which you can acquire as described here.

  • I am experiencing an identical issue. I have checked, and my machine meets all system and graphics requirements and all my drivers are up-to-date. I am running Rhino 6 on Windows 10 (installed on a partitioned drive on my Mac).

  • Wim , I'm afraid the log files don't tell us much about the problem. Can you also let me know, if your system meets our requirements in the first place, and also, if you're by any chance using an MSI machine? If your system does indeed meet them, and you do NOT have an MSI machine, please be so kind as to install the Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019 Redistributable on that machine in question? Installing this update should resolve the issue. Please be sure to install the x64 version.

And get back to me if that doesn't resolve the problem!

In that regard, kindly also install the C++ redistributable files as described just above. If that does not help, we also require a feedback report please. :)

Thank you for your reply Demian.

    - The system requirements are fine. HP Z1 workstation (i7-9700ghz processor - 32gb RAM - RTX 2080 graphics card)

    - The installation of Visual Studio you adviced didn't help...

    What else can I do?

  • Sorry to hear about that - at least there is a crash-report in the .zip file you've sent us. I'll forward that report accordingly. Thanks a lot, we'll let you know if we require more info.

  • Hi,

I have exact same problem and I am using the latest rhino and 2.7.1 escape.

So after a while, it just automatically closes and I was able to get a screenshot of the log from rhino and I have attached it. hope it helps!

    Thank you in advance!

    Brian

    Thank you in advance!

  • Brian , please also kindly send in a feedback report as described here:

That would be very helpful, let me know in case you cannot click the button for any reason. :)

  • Hi,

I have found out the problem, and its really embarrassing, but my monitor wasn't connected to the graphic card, but it was only connected to the motherboard.

So I didn't have graphic card, and this was why it wasn't working.

I am glad it's working now at least, and maybe it could be the graphic card not installed properly for some people, check it out!

Thank you for your help and hope everyone's Enscape works fine!

We updated all drivers + Windows 10 Pro version.
    Also this doesn't work...

I have a Event log between Rhino + Enscape... maybe this will solve something? See image below...

Please inform me as soon as possible... thanks a lot!

  • It's still with our developers - in the meantime, have you also made sure that the monitors are plugged into the GPU itself, not the main board for example?

Can you also try to disable the Intel onboard graphics chip as described here, and would you please be so very kind to either disable the any of the following software and/or deny the autostart when you boot your operating system if one of these is installed on your machine:

    Asus Sonic Studio II

    Alienware Sound Center

    A-Volute

    MSI Nahimic

I'll also get back to you once our developers have checked out the crash report file.

Also, you can also try our latest preview which you can acquire as described here - this is a bit of a shot in the dark, but if it helps let me know!

  • Problem is solved!

There was a cable problem... exactly what you mentioned.

Thank you for your quick response!

So very glad to hear that. Thanks for letting me know! :) Hopefully it'll be smooth sailing from there on with Enscape!
